***Week number one out of the hospital was full of emotions for Carina. She was almost fully fit, physically, however her Amnesia was still a burden. Though some memory flashes had now become constant, which Jo believed was a good sign. However for Carina, some of those flashes did leave her happy, as if some of her life's questions were gonna be answered soon. Some however, left her vulnerable and agitated.
Both Jo and Amelia weren't working today, and Carina insisted on inviting Andrea over for lunch. It was not an obligatory move to work on her Amnesia, she just simply wanted to spend some time with her brother.
"I'm still not sure why we didn't invite Maya." Jo said sneakily as the three women put the freshly bought groceries on the kitchen counter. Carina rolled her eyes at the statement. It was something the two women had been teasing her about since the lunch plans were made.
"Seriously though, if not lunch then will you answer why you haven't seen or spoken to Maya at all in this week, or since that late night call?" Amelia asked carefully.
Carina sighed. "What's the point?" She said. Jo and Amelia looked at each other. Their hearts ached for Carina, it was such a delicate situation after all. It was unmissable, how Carina's whole mood would light up when talking about Maya. A mention of her name would instantly make her smile, but that also came with so much baggage, and they were aware. A baggage named Aldo.
Soon Andrea knocked on the door. Upon entering, it was slightly awkward, but despite that, he wrapped his big sister around for the biggest hug.
"Come sei stato?" (How have you been?) Andrea asked.
"Sto bene. Getting there." Carina replied."Okay Andrea, you are aware of how shitty my cooking skills are, so don't judge the food. Although Carina did help, so I'm assuming it won't be that bad." Amelia announced as she opened a bottle of wine for the four. They all laughed and Carina somehow, felt at home.
Soon the group had moved to the couch as they had finished the current bottle and opened another one. Carina did consume it in control, knowing how it could potentially not react in the best way, if she did have too much.
"Oh, this one time Andrea and you fought because Andrea claimed he was your mom's favourite child." Jo said while laughing.
Carina just rolled her eyes, making the group laugh further. "Of course, he said that. Stupido. I was always mama's favourite child. Frankly, I deserved to be. Andrea was just a pain in the ass."
"Hey now, I wasn't that bad."
The group soon had lunch. Carina thought about how this was one of the best days she had had since the accident. Even Andrea's presence didn't feel like a burden today. It felt like she was just spending time with her baby brother. She was pulled out of her thoughts as the door was knocked.
"Teddddyyy!!" Jo screamed and got up to hug the blonde. As they hugged, Teddy's eyes met Carina's. There it was again, the weird feeling of something known. Teddy's eyes radiated comfort.
As the two women pulled apart, Teddy walked towards Carina, with a slight hesitation, not knowing what would be too much for the brunette."Hey Car." Teddy said carefully, maintaining a fair distance, for the sake of not getting Carina overwhelmed. Though Carina had other plans; she immediately jumped and hugged Teddy, surprising the blonde but she did wrap her around with the same intensity, once she had fathomed that Carina was in fact hugging her.
'Wow, Amelia and Teddy both get a hug instantly and I was just Grinch." Jo said jokingly making everyone laugh a little.
"Sorry, I wasn't able to visit before this. I'm working today as well, whereas this bitch Amelia has a rest." Teddy said.
