OPHELIA DARLING yawned as the orange and red hues slowly turned black. They had been on the road for quite a while now and the plains had been replaced with white mountains with snow.

"Where are we going?" asked Ophelia rubbing the sleep away from her eyes.

"VFD headquarters." Her mother replied.

Knitting her eyebrows together, Ophelia asked. "Why would our village have a headquarters?" Her mother and Beatrice chuckled.

"Not of the village darling, we are going to the headquarters of the Volunteer Fire Department," Beatrice replied, her coffee-coloured eyes set on the road.

Violet shifted a little and yawned as she moved to her side. Resting her head on Ophelia's shoulder and looping her arm around Ophelia's, Violet peacefully slept, while Ophelia's cheeks reddened. She let out a deep breath and shifted so Violet could rest more comfortably, and a smile graced Violet's face.

Ophelia looked out the car window, the white fluffiness outside making her face bloom into a smile. She really liked the snow when she was younger and loved making snowmen. Unfortunately at the Village of Fowl Devotees, it didn't snow at all. There was always an uncomfortable humidity in the air even in the winter season. The villagers would act grumpier than usual.

The car finally stopped and Beatrice and Diana walked outside to stretch. The blonde Darling carefully placed Violet's head on her seat and Ophelia followed them, stretching her aching muscles.

The place was wonderful, with snow that covered the lands, stretching for miles and miles with phantom-white mountains reared into the sky. The sky was a gloomy grey and cloudy, a dull, sunless sky as the rays of the yolk sun were blocked by the grey clouds.

Diana pulled the trunk of the car open and grabbed coats and mufflers, as both the women started changing into warmer attire.

Grabbing a white sweater and a light pink coloured coat for herself, she put them on, adjusting her mufflers as well. Violet woke up soon after and grabbed a purple-coloured coat and a blue muffler for herself, her cheeks turning rosy from the cold.

The other car finally stopped as well, and Bertrand, Sunny and Klaus were already dressed in their warm attires, all dressed in different shades of blue.

Bertrand held a map in his hands, as he peered over his black-rimmed glasses, before looking around his dark surroundings.

"We'd better rest for the day," He told them, folding the map and placing it in his coat pocket.

There was something picturesque about the night sky. An almost crater-like night sky, dominated by a black to navy gradient, backed a full moon. An ethereal glow encircled the moon, a glowing yellowy white.

"Where will we rest, mother?" asked Ophelia, as darkness surrounded them.

"I see a cave," said her mother squinting her eyes in the darkness. "We'll just rest there."
