It was only 9 a.m. and Eliese was already exhausted and ready for a nap. After the morning she and Matt had, they both deserve a nap or a very large drink, in Eliese's case, a nap. Matt was awake first, he put on coffee and got a quick smoothie ready for Emily for breakfast while Eliese slept a bit more since baby Busek was having a wild party last night and kept her mom awake most of the night. After he made breakfast Matt went upstairs to get Emily up and put her in the shower. Emily did exactly what she was told for the first time in a few days; she showered, washed her hair and body, and then put on her mom's bright red lipstick and eye makeup. She wanted to rebel against her mom and step-dad by wearing dark makeup with bright red lipstick. She knew how to apply the makeup from watching her mom do hers in the morning. Matt and Eliese were beginning to wonder what she was doing upstairs that was taking her so long. They both nearly had heart attacks when they saw the ten year-old girl. Neither of them was prepared for the sight of Emily wearing makeup. Matt and Eliese went off the deep end, on her. Eliese more than Matt, she dragged Emily back upstairs and washed the makeup off. Eliese was baffled as to why her ten year-old would think it would be a good idea to wear makeup. Eliese demanded that Emily never wore makeup before she turned fifteen; Emily was so frightened of her mother that she agreed amongst her fearful tears. Eliese was also on the brink of tears, she was frustrated with her daughter and scared of what the future may hold if Emily doesn't smarten up.

After that Matt drove Emily to School. He asked her why she thought she thought it'd be a smart idea to wear her mom's makeup. Emily didn't reply. Matt suddenly felt like he wasn't her buddy anymore. She always talked to him and now she's dead quiet. It hurt him but he knew she'd come around sooner or later.

Eliese stayed at home, showered and locked away her makeup. She wasn't about to let her ten year-old wear makeup. Emily is far too young to wear lipstick; the kid barely wears Chap Stick. Why would she all of a sudden decide that it's a good idea to wear not only dark eye makeup but her mother's red lipstick? Is she that jealous of the baby that she's going to extreme lengths to gain attention from her family? Is the baby going to make Emily act out more? Emily's never acted out before so it was shocking when she did what she did this morning. Nobody expected it.

When Matt returned home she was riffling through her clothes to find something suitable for brunch with their parents. Matt showered while she did that. Eliese finally settled on a sleeveless crème blouse and black skinny jeans. She tied her hair up into a ponytail and applied minimum amount of makeup, only eyeliner, mascara and deep red lipstick. Matt kept to a muscle shirt, hoodie and jeans. Eliese was envious that it was that easy for him to pick clothes and look good in them, she felt like a beached whale in most of her clothes now so she's sticking with loose fitting outfits. She hasn't had to wear maternity clothes since seventh grade, and even if she still had them they wouldn't fit her now.

"Why do you think she'd think it'd be a good idea to wear makeup? She's fucking ten years-old." Eliese asked from the passenger seat of Matt's car. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she looked severely confused about this situation. Oh, the things one thinks while stuck in traffic. Matt shrugged and kept his eyes on the road in front of him; hoping people would start to move forward sooner rather than later. He didn't enjoy Los Angeles traffic on the best days; he certainly despised it on the worst.

"I don't know. I can tell she's going to be a lot like you though." Matt's remark made Eliese look at him grimly.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Eliese snapped at his twelve word statement annoyed. Matt accidentally pushed the wrong button and sent her off the deep end into a sea of overwhelming emotions. Matt shrugged again and shook his head with a sly grin.
