Kaldur got off of the phone with Mr. Kent and he sighed. Madison was with Connor and they had stopped by when the Kents were repainting.

He sighed and sat down, rubbing his temples. Kaldur supposed neither of them really knew how to take a break.

"Hello, Kaldur."

He jumped up and activated his water bearers, pointing them at the man across the room.

Black Manta put his hands up in surrender. "I'm not here to fight."

"Last time you said that, Aquaman was shot." Kaldur glared. "How did you find me?"

"I've always known that this is where you and Wraith lived." He replied casually, eyeing Kaldur's weapons. "I just haven't snuck in before."

"Why are you here, Black Manta?" Kaldur demanded.

"To see my son of course." The villian smiled warmly. "Also, I would prefer it if you called me David. It seems we still have some progress to make before we can get to 'Dad'."

"You are not my father!" Kaldur snarled.

"You don't believe me or you don't want to?" Black Manta questioned.

"My father is in Atlantis." Kaldur glared. "You have not been there for me like he has."

"Are you referring to your mother's boyfriend or to Aquaman?" Manta asked.

Aquaman.

Kaldur suddenly lunged to the side, attempting to press his emergency communicator on the counter, but Manta moved forward and kneed him, sending the Atlantean stumbling backward.

Manta raised his sword and smacked Kaldur in the back of the neck, making the hero crumble to the floor.

"I do not want to fight you Kaldur, but I will if I have to." Black Manta warned, putting his foot on Kaldur's back to keep him down.

"You won't get away with this." Kaldur told him.

"I just want to talk." Black Manta sighed. "Family is very important to me. Do you know that I only chose the path of going after Aquaman because he killed my father?"

"Aquaman does not kill." Kaldur sneered.

"Maybe not anymore. But he left my father to die on a submarine right in front of me." Manta told him. "My father blew himself up so that I would leave him before I drowned."

Kaldur didn't reply, instead processing the new information.

"I would do the same for you, my son." Black Manta said, putting a small flashdrive into Kaldur's hand. "I will warn you of the traitor in your midst."

Kaldur glared at the floor, still unable to move out from under his enemy. "I will not fall for that again."

"Trust me, I do not have the resources to edit cameras this well." Black Manta assured him. "But I suggest you ask her yourself."

"Ask who?" Kaldur asked.

"The person you trust most."

And then everything went black.

Madison stepped into the room, her eyes darting across the lush and spacious interior.

This was such a horrible idea.

Eh, too late now.

Some's footsteps began to approach the corner and Madison stopped, her eyes hardening.

Klarion turned the corner, his cat walking behind him. When they spotted her, Klarion froze in surprise before the sides of his mouth began to lift.

"You know, I thought you'd never come." He grinned, picking up Teekl and placing the cat on his shoulder.
