Chapter 14: Every Side

An emergency meeting was called 15 minutes ago, summoning the Team only to the Watchtower, their only remaining base.

Currently, both parties were waiting, clueless as to who sent the message.

That was until the zeta tube activated and four figures stepped into the room.

Kaldur, Madison, Artemis, and Klarion.

For a moment, everyone was too shocked to say a single thing.

"Team." Kaldur acknowledged. "I believe a discussion is in order to determine the defeat of the Light and the Reach."

Nightwing stepped forward. "Kaldur, you weren't supposed to reve-"

Megan flew forward before anyone could react and gave Kaldur the biggest hug. "I'm so sorry! I'm so so sorry!"

Kaldur patted her back and pulled Megan to arms length. "You had no knowledge of my deception, Megan. Nor did most you."

He turned toward the others. "I have been collaborating with Nightwing and Kid Flash to infiltrate the Light and tonight, we have our best opportunity to knock them out of the game."

Lagon stepped forward. "Why didn't you tell us?"

"To ensure that I could not be revealed as a double agent." Kaldur explained. "That was a mistake I do not plan to make again."

"You did what you had to do." Nightwing told him. "That's all that matters."

Kaldur stepped up to Nightwing. "The ends do not always justify the means, old friend. That includes your plan to split Madison and I up for your mission."

Nightwing stammered. "I- I don't know what you're-"

Kaldur punched Nightwing square in the face, making the other hero stumble back. The Team's eyes widened in surprise.

"Do not stand in the way of my relationship again."

Madison smirked and stepped forward. "Let's get back to business, shall we?"

She snapped, more exclaimed gasps coming from the Team at the sight of her healed hands. A projection came into view.

"We're going at this with a two-pronged assault." Madison told them. "One team with take control of the Reach ship and the other will go after the Light, who are currently scheduled for a meeting at 10 tonight."

Batgirl glanced at her watch. "That's in three hours!"

Madison nodded. "Then I suppose it's beneficial that Artemis can explain the entire plan to those of you heading for the Reach."

Artemis stepped forward. "Blue Beetle, Beast Boy, Lagon, Impulse, Wondergirl..." She continued to list off the people on her team.

Madison walked up to Nightwing. "You told me that you didn't want to be like Batman."

She shook her head in disappointment. "Well congratulations, you've succeeded. Batman would have never done something like this."

Madison walked back to Kaldur and they gathered their group.

"We will be taking on the Light." Kaldur told them. "Are you ready?"

Everyone cheered.

Wraith snapped, turning herself invisible and walking forward quietly.

"Soon enough, the League will be returning to Earth." Ras Al Ghul pointed out. "We need to have secured the Reach by then."
