Lois ended up letting Madison wear a pair of her pajamas and stay the night. Unlike usual, Madison's sleep was dreamless.
Waking up wasn't quite as peaceful.
Madison woke up with a start, smacking into the floor as she fell off of the couch in Lois and Clark's livingroom.
"Ugh." Madison sat up and groaned, trying to wipe her eyes.
"Goodmorning." Lois smiled, walking over with a plate.
Madison looked up in surprise. "Goodmorning, Lois. Today is Monday, don't you work in the mornings?"
Lois nodded as Madison got back on the couch. "I do, but I called in for a family emergency. I might as well have went though, considering it's almost mid-day."
Madison turned in surprise, looking to the clock and checking the time. Lois was right, Madison had slept in until a quarter to twelve.
"Carp." Madison muttered. "You didn't need to take off work. I'm sorry I've been here so long. I'll head back to my place as soon as-"
Lois sat the plate on Madison's lap. "No need, it's been some time since you and I last talked. My only company these days are Connor, Jimmy, and clients."
Madison sighed. "I'm sorry. I should hav-"
"Stop doing that." Lois ordered. "You need to know what you did, own it, and never back down. Now I used to know a White Wraith with a steel hard confidence and never apologized for doing what she loves."
Lois stood up and pulled Madison's newly cleaned cloak off of a chair. She held it up and poked the thick fabric.
"You see this?" Lois demanded. "This is what you use to shield yourself from the world. You might not be able to hide yourself under a veil of invisibility anymore, but when you put this on, I see a woman who will break her back to do what needs to be done. With or without magic."
Lois tossed the cloak onto the couch and crossed her arms. "I'm a reporter. I see great people of power knocked off their pedestals every day. They give up, grow out their hair, and drown in whiskey."
Lois pointed at Madison. "But you're a hero. You're supposed to be a symbol of hope. You're not allowed to give up."
Lois sat down next to Madison and grabbed her bandaged hands gently. "Now you can stay here and talk to a crazy pregnant woman and I wouldn't blame you one bit. But knowing you, you're not going to do that, are you?"
Madison shook her head.
"Good." Lois nodded sternly. "Then when you get back out there, you best let the world know that you are the White Wraith. You are a hero. And you do not back down."
Madison stood up and Lois followed suit, grabbing Madison's cloak.
"When you wore this cloak, you hid behind the loose fabric. You turned invisible." Lois said. "But today when you go out there, you're no longer hiding from the world. You're going to own it."
"I'm going to own the world." Madison repeated.
"You are not going to back down." Lois instructed.
"I am not going to back down."
Lois grinned. "And most importantly, you are the White Wraith."
Madison grabbed her cloak and threw it into the fireplace.
"I am the White Wraith."

Madison stepped into the Hall of Justice, her usual cloak gone. In it's place was a white kevlar suit with blue boots and gloves. Her bandages were gone, replaced with the thick blue gloves.
