Emily's P.O.V.
Today is the day Diana will be destroyed. I quickly get ready to go out into the woods since I don't want to be late to pick Jake, Sam, and Mike up. I quickly get dressed, eat my breakfast, and head out to Jake's house with a shovel. It's not what you think! It's so we can dig up the necklace. Not to hit Jake if that's what you're thinking. Once I reach Jake's house I knock on the door and patiently wait. Five minutes have passed and I'm still waiting. I begin knocking on the door and it opens while I'm in mid knock to reveal Jake.
"Sorry, I had to grab a few things." Jake explains with a smile on his face. I love his smile so much. I mean not love love but, you know, he has a really nice smile that always looks so cute as it shows off his dimples. I mean, he has a really nice smile, get off my back jeez! Anyway... I think Jake notices the shovel because he looks at me questioningly with a raised eyebrow.
"It's to dig up the necklace!" I quickly explain with wide eyes. Jake grins at me causing me to lightly blush.
"I know, I just wanted to see your reaction." Jake says smiling at me innocently. I shoot invisible daggers his way as I glare at him. I roll my eyes and huff in annoyance as we just stand on the porch waisting time.
"Let's just go, we have to get Mike and Sam."
Jake quickly grabs a backpack filled of who knows what before shutting the front door behind us. We quickly head over to Mike's since he was the closest only to find out he's still sleeping! Seriously, you would think he would care about something other than his pillow. Mike's mother allows us inside so we head on up to Mike's room and jump on his bed to wake him up. I had no idea that Mike was a heavy sleeper! I grab a cup of water from the bathroom and dump it on Mike's head hoping it will wake him up.
"Cold!" Mike yells jumping out of bed.
I roll my eyes and head back downstairs to wait at the door as Mike gets dressed. I think half an hour has passed and I'm impatiently waiting at the door for Mike and Jake. How long does it take to get dressed! Soon Mike and Jake come down the staircase and to the door.
"Finally! What took you two so long?"
"I was doing my hair." Mike says as he looks in a mirror and starts fixing his hair.
My jaw drops at Mike's excuse. Seriously! That's what took him so long! I grab Mike and Jake by the collar of their shirts and drag them out the door. I hope Sam doesn't take as long as these two, we only have so much time left. Thankfully when we reach Sam's, with Jake and Mike leading the way, he's sitting on a porch swing waiting for us all ready to go. Once he spots us he get up and grabs whatever it is he grabs. I think it's an apple.
"What took you three so long?" Sam asks walking towards us.
"Sam was doing his hair." I explain.
"Seriously?" Sam asks with an annoyed expression present on his face.
"Seriously." We head to the woods where Dorothy would be waiting for us which took, what? Fifteen minutes?
"Ready?" Dorothy asks. I stare Dorothy in the eyes and nod.
"Ready."
I follow Dorothy into the woods with the guys following behind me since I'm the only one that can see Dorothy. Dorothy leads us deep into the woods, very deep, deeper than I had thought we needed to go. Dorothy stops right next to a tree on the other side of the clearing and I stop as do the boys.
"There, buried in the ground, is the necklace." Dorothy says as she points to the dirt covered ground near the edge of the clearing of the tree line.
I slowly walk over to where Dorothy is pointing and begin digging up the necklace with the shovel I brought. The boys help me once they see where I stab my shovel in the ground. After many minutes of digging, I begin seeing silver. What? Why is there silver in the ground? Is it the necklace? I stop digging right away as do the boys and grab whatever it is that is silver. There, in the grasp of my hand, was the necklace in all its beautiful glory. Yes, I said the necklace is beautiful. The necklace is a small, maybe three inches or more, silver heart with a beautiful design engraved in it with a matching silver chain that glitters in the sun's rays.
"Wow." Sam says astonished by the necklace.
"Is it wrong that now I don't want to destroy the necklace?" Jake asks looking at the necklace.
"We're getting food after this, right?" We all turn to Mike with an annoyed expression. Really?
"What? I skipped breakfast this morning okay!" Mike yells crossing his arms over his chest with a pout on his face.
Suddenly a breeze passes by, only it wasn't like any ordinary gentle breeze. It was more like a gust of wind. A strong gust of wind. Strong, fierce, and quick. The gust of wind hited us hard without a warning. It took all of the strength in me to turn in the direction the wind is coming from and keep my eyes open only to see Diana Marie Thompson. She stood in the shadows of the trees with a wicked grin, and an evil look in her eyes. Murderous if you will. The strong gust of wind begins to slowly slow down to a gentle breeze until it comes to a complete stop. I don't move a single muscle, afraid that she might pounce on me at any moment. I hope she doesn't move but of course hope is only a feeling that can't help you in situations like this. Diana begins to slowly stalk towards us as if she's the predator and we're her prey.
"So, how do we destroy this?" Mike asks raising the necklace. Diana makes this weird screeching sound before lunging at us.
"You idiot!" Jake yells before he pushes me out of the way making me fall to the floor as he is the one who gets tackled to the ground by Diana. I quickly jump to my feet and grab the shovel, that I had putted on the ground when we finished digging. I swing the shovel at Diana's head only I end up hitting Jake instead by mistake.
"Ow!" Jake yells out in pain.
"Sorry!" Diana turns to me and throws me across the clearance and into a tree. My back hits the tree first before I fall to the ground with an 'umph' face down.
"How are we supposed to defeat someone we can't even touch?!" Mike asks hysterically. I lift my head up and look around. I watch Mike help Jake to his feet as Sam is distracting Diana.
I look over at Dorothy, who's standing off to the side, and lock eyes with her us both knowing the answer to Mike's question. I put my head down and to my dismay a tratorious tear falls down my face soon hitting the ground. I slowly get up from the ground, grab the necklace, and put it around my neck and, just like Dorothy had said, I blackout collapsing to the ground. Now it's just you and me Diana.
