Jake's P.O.V.

Today, we're getting a new student. I feel terrible because whoever is the new student could be visited by "her" at any time and no one would ever see him or her again. There have been other kids in the past who was visited by "her" and every time a kid was visited they would disappear and since then no one has ever seen them again. As Mrs.Kat is going over something that has to do with math, I think, the door suddenly opens and in walks the secretary from the office and some girl.
The girl is really pretty. She has brunette hair and blue eyes. I think her eyes are blue anyway. I only got a glance before she had her head down. She must be one of those cut shy girls.
"Emily, would you like to introduce yourself?" Mrs.Kat asks Emily. Emily doesn't reply she just shakes her head 'no' in response to Mrs.Kat's question.
"Well, I'm Mrs.Kat. Why don't you go take a seat next to Jake. Jake please raise your hand."
I raise my hand and watch as she silently strolls over to sit next to me. I had already putted my hand down when she got close enough to where she can see me, like two or three desks away, and doesn't need my hand up to find me. When she was seated next to me Mrs.Kat begins back on whatever subject it was she was teaching.
"Hi, I'm Jake. Jake Johnson to be exact." I say holding out my hand for Emily to shake. She stares at my hand for a couple of minutes or so until she gives me a small smile and shakes my hand.
"I'm Emily." I return the smile to Emily. She's so pretty when she smiles.
I already know Emily's name because of Mrs.Kat but I'd rather Emily tell me her name than just say it so she doesn't think I'm weirdo. I look her in the eyes and she does have blue eyes and when she smiles you can see her eyes sparkle with happiness and it made her look even prettier than she did before.
"So, how do you like Bannack, Montana so far."
"It's not bad but something just doesn't feel right. It feels like there's a secret the town is hiding." I tense up knowing she must be talking about "her." I hope "she" didn't visit her or will in the time being. I just hope nothing happens and she doesn't know about "her."
"Whatever you do, never tell your parents. It won't end well for you or for them. 'She's' always watching." I whisper to Emily not wanting Mrs.Kat to catch us talking during class.
"Who?" Emily asks curiously. I don't respond afraid "she" might hear us. Emily was silent for the rest of class probably trying to figure out who "she" is and I don't mind as long as I don't have to answer anymore questions about "her."
Us kids in Bannack, Montanna wish we could tell our parents but if we do "she" would not only come after us but our parents as well. If only Emily knew what great danger she was in here.
