Earning A Wellspring

The next day, everyone was solemn as they headed back to the range. Now knowing what they were going to avoid, they were more determined than ever to learn everything they could. Especially as more of them were losing their quirks. Momo could barely make a microchip, Jirou's ears now just looked like she had extended earlobes, and the most extreme, Tokoyami, was starting to lose feathers, showing the more humanlike face underneath. His transformation had been one of the more unique... since the two personalities normally were split... instead... Dark Shadow's was forcibly subsumed into Tokoyami's soul. He'd developed a split personality during the night... cold and stoic, yet frantic and energetic. Both personalities shining through, depending on his mood. Either way, every person in Class A changed in a similar manner. Izuku and Llorona were already there, and she spoke first. "Alright. You know what you will face, and what you need to improve on. Those who want practice with long guns and rifles, see Izuku. Those who want pistol practice, come to me."

The next few days were hectic for them. As now they knew what they would become if they failed, and took steps to actively avoid it. The girls in particular were the most dedicated, with good reason. Nobody wants to become a hive. Nobody wants to become a grunt. Nobody...

And then it was time. The quarter moon had arrived. Class A sat at their table in the inn. Izuku spoke to them. "It's quite alright to be nervous or afraid. It just shows that you're human. Just like the rest of us. I'm proud to see you all improve... in more ways than one. I've done all I can for my promise to Eraser... all that's left is for you to win. Thankfully, there are enough wellsprings for each of you. You know the drill for tonight. Find weapons, close rifts, and secure the wellspring. If someone gets it first, kill them. No hesitation. You know why you're fighting. You'll be allowed to bring a pistol, a small shotgun, or a melee weapon. Remember, if you fail, you won't die. But you'll wish you could."

Mina was terrified as she awoke in the middle of the Bayou. The quarter moon tore the night's darkness apart. Getting to her feet, Mina reflected on all that happened as she checked her pistol. It was an officer's compact pistol, with an added stock for stability. Her thoughts drifted from the weapon, the gear, to her appearance.

After checking the mirror yesterday, she was finally aware of just how real this was. Her skin was fair, similar to Momo's, and her hair was starting to grow dark brown at the roots. Her horns were still there, and her eyes were the same. It gave a sickly appearance to her, but she was forced to accept this.

It was then that her thoughts were interrupted by a gunshot. Quickly running into the trees, she breathed calmly as she activated Dark Sight. It felt like her eyes were peering through a veil they shouldn't be able to normally. Everything was dark, except for a blue glow in the structure ahead. So, deactivating it, Mina ran to the structure, the pistol in front of her. Continuing into the facility, she noticed the sign said "Wolfshead Arsenal". Good, a location...
