The Finale

Part III: Eternal

Blue walked over to Helena's alleged corpse, her eyes dilating over the loss of Percy. Artemis linked arms with her to show emotional support for the loss of a close friend. As they arrived at Helena's body, Blue let out the tears she was trying to hold back.

"It's over," she said, "We won, but at what cost? Percy is gone now." She placed her hands over her eyes as Artemis investigated the body. He knelt down towards one of her left arms.

"Blue," he said softly, "I can hear her breathing. I don't think she's-" He was then cut off as the hand grabbed his neck. Helena then clumsily stood up, facing away from Blue.

"You've driven me to my breaking point," she said coldly, "Now watch as I kill the person you love most!" She then quickly turned around as Artemis struggled to break free. Her eyes became noticeably larger, revealing what was beneath the charade of beauty. Blue gasped with fear as she saw the goat monster in excruciating pain.

"However, you can save him," Helena offered, "Swear your loyalty to me, and I will set your friend free."

"S-Save m-me," Artemis muttered as he flung his legs around.

Blue stood still as a pillar. She had to make the right choice, but each one would lead to something terrible. Saving Artemis would mean that everyone would be under the rule of a tyrant, but she couldn't let Artemis die. Holding back more tears, she lent out her hand to Helena.

"I will help you," she said, "Now, let him go." Helena promptly dropped Artemis, causing the goat monster to scurry back to Blue. Traumatized by the experience, tears flowed down Artemis's face as he rest his head on Blue's shoulder, breathing heavily to regain oxygen.

"Blue, please don't do this," Artemis begged, "We can find another way."

"You have made the right choice," Helena replied, her smile sending chills down Blue's spine, "Now, we don't have much time. Let's hurry and take back control of the castle." Helena and Blue then held hands briefly. Blue faked a smile at Helena, earning her trust. Helena smiled back. As they kept holding, Blue's smile began to fade. Artemis took a step back, feeling betrayed by Blue's decision.

Then, without warning, the princess summoned her Chaos Saber and aimed directly for her stomach, impaling the wicked queen. Helena screamed in agony and stumbled back, trying to pull out the blade from her stomach. Black liquid began to leak from her wound. Helena tried to speak another threat to Blue, but nothing came out of her mouth but snarls and growls. Blue turned to Artemis with a concerned look on her face.

"Stand back," she told him, "I don't want you getting hurt. I sense someone is inside her." Artemis took a few steps back as Helena began to charge a dark orb. As the queen of the underworld began to charge it, sparks of purple lightning surrounded her hands. Blue turned to Helena and stood there, perfectly still, ready to take the attack.

"Blue! Get out of the way!" Artemis shouted with great concern and fear. Blue didn't respond or even turn back. A white aura began to surround her body as Helena's attack powered up. Blue gently closed her eyes, thinking of nothing but the love and support of her friends.

Helena, reluctantly, cast the energy orb at Blue. A massive explosion occurred on impact, exploding into various colors of purple, dark blue, and gray.

Yet, Blue remained unphased. Artemis's mouth dropped at the sight of what he witnessed. Blue's outfit slowly warped into a pure white royal dress, along with dawning white silk gloves that when up to her elbows. Her two pigtails went undone as her hair became perfectly straight. Helena gasped, realizing the true power of Cosmos had returned. The regal princess then stepped forward, each step releasing a shockwave of light on the ground, eliminating all forms of darkness. As she got closer and closer to Helena, the iniquitous queen trembled with fear, falling to her hands and knees as chills crawled down her spine. Blue then raised her arm Helena's forehead.
