Star Fairy Chronicles III

Chapter 6

"Hmph," X Rosie said as she summoned the plasma sword, "Do you really think you can defeat me? Your X variant was unable to, so what makes you think you can stand a chance."

"No," Emile replied, "I don't think I can defeat you. I KNOW I can defeat you!"

"Your confidence will be your downfall," X Rosie remarked, "I will def-" Before she could finish, Emile jumped right behind her and punched her strongly in the back, causing to tumble over to the ground. As X Rosie fell onto her stomach, she saw an orange glow from below the surface. At first she thought it was lava, but then she gasped and quickly jumped up as 20 spears plummeted from the ground. She then swung the plasma sword at Emile, who then blocked it with his left arm.

"This armor is made from Platinum Z6, the strongest metal on this planet," Emile remarked, "It can resist weapons like this for a limited amount of time." He noticed the armor beginning to crack, so he summoned a spear with his other arm and threw it at X Rosie's stomach. Rosie slid along the ground and then stabbed her sword into earth to stop slow her down. Emile summoned another spear and threw it at X Rosie, who summoned a red barrier to block the attack.

"I don't understand," she said to herself, "How is he so strong? Determination should be the strongest trait." Suddenly, a swarm of tiny rocks began to surround her into the form of a tornado.

"A sand tornado?!" she said angrily, "Is this really the best he can do?!" Emile then summoned a large spear and took a deep breath in. He then jumped high into the air.

"Spear of Bravery!" he shouted as he threw the spear down the center of the tornado. X Rosie looked up and screamed in agony as the spear impaled her. The impact caused a short explosion, turning part of X Rosie's body into dust as pink liquid magic began to leak from her chest.

"I underestimated him," she said, "I must use this power." She then summoned a button labeled "Load." She pressed it and then appeared fresh and new. All previous damage had been removed. Her eyes glowed a deeper red than before. Emile was shocked to see this and readied a barrage of spears.

"Don't think that will work this time," X Rosie threatened, "I've grown more powerful thanks to my unnatural abilities." She then swung her plasma sword at Emile, cutting through his armor and causing him to drop all of the spears.

"But how?" Emile asked as he felt the blood-like substance drip from his body. X Rosie then marched towards him and tried to stab him with the plasma sword. But as she was about to, Emile quickly summoned a spear and knocked her back. He then absorbed the magic leaking from his body.

"Don't think you can get rid of me that easily," he said, "Because I am NOT afraid of you! I am Fearless!" X Rosie prepared another attack, but was quickly stopped when she saw herself glitching.

"Oh no," she said, "I used too much of this power." Emile summoned another barrage of spears and instantly fired it at her. X Rosie glitched out of the way.

"I have to go," she told Emile, "You won this battle, but the war isn't over!" She then teleported away. Emile then returned to his normal self and knelt down.

"I failed," he said, "I almost had her, but she escaped. And now Rosie has been taken as well. I have to tell the others." A tear fell from his eye as he slouched over and walked back to the others.

Emile arrived back just as the sun was setting. Blue saw him and immediately ran over to him.

"Emile!" she said, "You're back. But, where's Rosie?"

"I got the Spear of the Earth," Emile said, "But Rosie, she didn't make it. An X variant of her attacked us and took her SOUL. I'm sorry. It's all my fault." Blue's eyes widened as she touched his shoulder.
