I'm woken up from my sleep by my phone ringing. I sigh before reaching out for it, pulling it off the charger.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Sissy." My sister beams.

"Hi."

"What's wrong? You sound sad."

"I think you forget that I'm three hours behind you." I sit up.

"Oh shit, that's right. I'm on my break right now, and we haven't really talked in a while."

"You're right. How are you?"

"I'm pretty good. Michael and I went to this cool restaurant in Charlotte last weekend. Next time you're here we should go. Stella, it's so good." She tells me.

"Yeah, that sounds fun. I don't know when I'll be able to come down though."

"Aw, why not? Are things really crazy over there?"

"Uh, you know, the normal crazy I would say." Lie. The house seems to be getting crazier by the day.

"Just come when you can, no rush."

"I will, Sissy." I promise.

We speak for a bit longer, catching up before hanging up.

I should really go back home to visit...

I get up from my bed and stretch and go downstairs for coffee, not bothering to get dressed for the day yet.

"Throwing a party?" I hear Mike ask.

"Is that Mikey?" I squeal, rushing down the remaining stairs.

"Yeah." he smiles.

I hug him lightly, trying not to hurt him.

"It's Jakes's birthday on Saturday. Last year, we threw him a surprise party. Freaking awesome. So we're going to do it again." Johnny continues from where I interrupted.

"That's great man!" Mike tells him.

"Yeah."

"He hated it." Charlie comments from her spot in the kitchen.

"Yeah, like Dodgers-Giants hate."

"Yep." I nod, walking into the kitchen.

"Oh." Mike says, looking down.

"Usually, Charlie spearheads this kind of thing–"

"Yeah, this year, chasing Odin seemed more pressing." she cuts off Johnny.

"So I'm going to need some help. Yo, P! Chop Chop!" he says, yelling up the stairs.

"So, you want all of us to risk Jakes's wrath?" I ask Johnny, pouring myself a cup of coffee.

"Yo, don't ruin the excuse through a party."

"Yo, T, I'm chopping, okay? You need to unbunch your panties." Paige calls down as she descends the stairs.

"Uh- huh. Let's go."

Paige stops on the stairs as she sees Mike.

"Hi." he whispers as I walk over to them.

"Thought you weren't supposed to be out for a few more days."

"I checked myself out, against medical advice." he explains.

"You shouldn't be here." she says, quickly.

Johnny and I look at each other, confused. We look between the pair.
