Kingdom Hearts: Independence Day

Chapter 8

Back in L.A., Brand is in the living room. Jasmine is pacing back and forth as Steve is packing up his stuff. He's wearing his military uniform. 

TV: The arrival of the alien visitors has caused over 10,000 fender-benders in just a few seconds' time, but this is just the beginning...

Jasmine: Uh-uh. Come on, now, you can't go. You got to call them back. 

Steve: I'm not going to do this with you, Jasmine. I've got to report to El Toro. 

Jasmine: But you said you was on leave for the 4th. 

Steve: Yeah, well they canceled it! 

Brand flinches at this. He hates when they fight. Steve takes a deep breath as Jasmine crosses her arms. 

Steve: Look, why are you acting like this?

Jasmine: (Looks at him) Why? 

She then walks to a window. She opens the blinds. 

Jasmine: THAT'S why. 

She points at the alien ship outside. Brand looks at it as helicopters are flying under it. Steve sees this as she sighs. He walks to her.

Steve: Look...I really don't think they flew 90 billion light-years to come down here and start a fight and get all rowdy. Look, why don't you just relax? I'm going to report to El Toro and find out what's going on. 

He takes his bag, and he walks outside. Brand looks at Jasmine, and follows his uncle outside. He sees Dylan in his car, imitating engine running as he sits in the driver's seat.

Steve: What are you doing in there, man? 

Dylan: Nothing. I'm just driving. 

Brand: Wait. Uncle Steve?

Steve: Yeah, Brand? 

Brand: What did my dad say? 

Steve: He's gonna try to come here to get you, but he says if he can't, I told him that Jasmine will look after you. I want you to be good, ok? (Takes out fireworks) Look. Here, I got you these for both of you. 

Brand: Cool. Rockets. 

Dylan: Firecrackers. 

Steve: Now you be careful.

Brand: Ok. (Hugs him) Love you, uncle Steve. 

Steve: Love you too, little man. 

Brand goes back in the house as Jasmine comes out of the house to talk to Steve. Brand takes his rockets, and puts them in his backpack. Back in New York, people are still shouting and screaming as they're all going crazy. People are packing their stuff like crazy as riots are doing their work. David and Jill arrive in Julius' neighborhood. 

David: Look out! Look out! 

They park their bikes in front of the house, and they run up the steps. David knocks on the door, and his father opens the door, and he has a gun in his hand. Jill screams in shock as her father moves the gun away. 

Julius: The television said they started the looting already. Vultures. 

David: You still have the plymouth? 

Julius: (Looks at him) You want to borrow the car? David, you don't have a license. 

David: You're driving. (Walks inside)

Julius: Yeah, I'm driving. I'm driving?

Jill: Come on. Come on. We'll explain. 

He closes the door. In the camp, the heroes are all waiting for the lift to come.
