"God's humor"

My love for you started as a need to kiss you, give you hugs, feel your embrace, sit next to you, see you everyday, hold your hand, make sure your eyes were only for me.

But life has taught me how I needed to outgrow my old understanding of how loving should be.

Now "I love you" is a prayer before bedtime, asking God to keep you safe. "I love you" is worry in my forehead when it's raining hard and I whisper "I hope he drives safe". "I love you" is a wish in my heart for your happiness and the happiness of the people around you. "I love you" is no longer the impatience of waiting for you to love me, too.

I still carry the feelings I once had for you but they have evolved. These feelings have become limitless, steady, calm, and no longer childish.

To have my heart handpicked by God just shows He has a sense of humor. But He must know what He was doing when life led me to you.
