Chapter 4

taecyeon woke up the next morning, the day when he had to go to court. he was really nervous, and kept shaking the entire journey to the court.

30 minutes later, everyone was seated in the court and the trial had began. the opposing prosecutors first gave their evidence and opinions, which were completely false and were generated by kang-so-pil herself. after giving her solid evidence, she glanced at taecyeon and gave a small smirk, making taecyeon more nervous than ever.

he stood up. "your honor," he said to the judge. "the evidence that kang so-pil has given is completely false, and the videos in her USB are false too. i have proof of that."

everyone in the court gasped. kang-so-pil widened her eyes. "your honor!" she exclaimed. "he is lying! why on earth would i want to give you false evidence? i've never heard the like! i would never-"

"then its time i tell the judge everything that you have been doing." taecyeon interrupted. he took out a USB, earning gasps from kang-so-pil.

"you thief!" she yelled. "you-"

"this USB was given to me by kang gyun-suk." he said. 

"he is her brother, and acted as if he was working for her. but he sent me all the evidence she had falsely generated, including articles, videos and much more. and she obviously knew that our defendant has 2 brothers, so she threatened them into giving all his information, so that she could use it to make false evidence and accuse him of crime which he hadn't done at all. now who, you might ask, has committed the murder of his father? kang so pil says that its our defendant himself, for he was with him in the kitchen cutting onions and potatoes for dinner. all it would take for him would be that he would stab him somewhere fatal, and poof, he's gone. but in fact, its kang so pil herself. our defendant and kang so pil were classmates and were in the same college and university as well, but he did everything better than her. she wanted to be the best, and also make his popularity go down, so she accused him of drugs and smoking in the 2nd year of university. but the defendant stood up for himself and claimed that its all false, and kang so pil was sent to jail. and now she wanted revenge, so she accused him of killing his father, while it was actually her. i have proof in another USB."

the court was silent. they were stunned by his accuracy. he hadn't taken a single breath between this. he had rapped, yes, literally rapped a whole summary of kang so pil and the defendant. the judge was sitting high up on the table, gaping at taecyeon like a fish. and as for kang so pil, she had gone completely pale.

taecyeon took out another USB, and said, "this footage was deleted, but fortunately i was able to recruit it. i shall, with your honor's permission, put it on the big screen for everyone to see."

kang so pil immediately looked at the judge, begging him with her eyes to refuse what taecyeon said.

"i shall....." the judge said, looking around. kang so pil silently clasped her hands and begged him to refuse.

".....allow it." the judge said. taecyeon smiled and gave the USB to the assistant. he looked back at joong-ki, who gave him a small nod and a smile. taecyeon smiled back and diverted his attention to the screen.

the footage showed kang so pil entering the house and stabbing the defendant. the defendant fell down and kang so pil quickly stabbed his father. the court gasped as they saw what happened.

"this is fake!" kang so pil said. "taecyeon has-"

"excuse me?"

"i mean, lawyer taecyeon has made up this footage! it isn't real! you must believe me!"

"if it was fake, it wouldn't be so blurred, because if i wanted had made it fake, i would want everyone to know exactly whats going on in the footage. its so blurred you can barely make out anything, its just enough to show that you killed his father." taecyeon said calmly.

"you honor!" kang so pil cried. "this guy over here is accusing me! he's accusing me of crime which i haven't done at all!"

"pfft." taecyeon said. "the whole court knows whats going on. you don't need to lie."

"wait a minute." the judge said. "i need to thank lawyer taecyeon for this, but lawyer taecyeon, don't you think its a little evil that you basically spied on lawyer kang so pil?"

"oh no, not at all, your honor." taecyeon said, getting up and picking his briefcase. "i have a very special friend who once told me something." he glanced at joong-ki before turning back to the judge and said, "this friend of mine told me something very true. i guess you would like to know what it is, therefore i shall tell you. it is "only evil can punish.....""

he glanced at kang so pil before saying, "....evil."

he then walked out of the courtroom with thousands of reporters and journalists asking questions. but he ignored them and walked out with his head held high and a smirk on his face.
