it was a pleasant evening. taecyeon and joong-ki had decided to head to a café to celebrate taecyeon' s victory on his latest case.

"when you inserted the USB into the computer, kang so pil's face was one to be seen." joong-ki said. taecyeon smiled.

"whats wrong?" joong-ki asked.

"nothing." taecyeon said. "i'm fi-"

taecyeon's phone rang at that moment. he looked at the screen and quickly picked it up, but joong-ki saw the name.

"miss kim?" joong-ki asked. "who is miss kim?"

"uh, no one. just...uh....a friend of mine." taecyeon replied, getting up from his chair. he went outside the café and answered the call.

"what is it?" he demanded.

"you know very well that joong-ki is moon-hyuk's brother, right?" his secretary snapped.

"of course i do." taecyeon said. "whats the problem?"

"you really need to protect him boss." his secretary, miss kim said. "he could do anything to him."

"he's been okay with him for 26 years. he'll be fine right now as well." taecyeon said. "there's no need to worry. and of course i shall protect him, till the day i die."

miss kim sighed over the phone. "you really love him, don't you?"

"oh come on, shut up." taecyeon said. "anyways i need to go, he's probably wondering where i am. i'll talk to you later."

"sure." miss kim said. "goodbye."

"bye."

"what happened?" joong-ki asked. "what took you so long?"

"oh, my friend's sick." taecyeon said. "i'm sorry that i kept you waiting for so long."

"nah its fine." joong-ki said. "i paid the bill. so lets go for a stroll in the park. i need to digest all this food."

"lets go." taecyeon said, getting up.

they went to the park. it was an awkward silence between them until joong-ki sighed.

"how long are you gonna hide it from me?" he asked.

"hide what?" taecyeon asked.

he stopped and turned around to face taecyeon.

"the fact that you love me."

taecyeon froze.

"w-what do you mean?" he asked, shocked.

"i know you like me. i've known ever since we both met." joong-ki said.

"oh." taecyeon said. he had something on his mind which he wanted to ask, but he just couldn't bring himself to say it. however, joong-ki knew what he was thinking.

"i'm sorry." joong-ki said.

"for what?" taecyeon asked, confused.

"i know you like me, but...." joong-ki paused.

"i just don't feel the same way."

that hit taecyeon harder than anything. harder than when he had almost revealed that he was the CEO of the most successful company in south korea. it hit him more than when his sister died. it hit him more than anything.

"it-its okay." taecyeon said, fighting back tears. "you don't need to feel the same way-"

joong-ki pulled him in a hug and whispered, "its okay, cry all you want, i'm here."

and taecyeon couldn't resist it anymore. he started crying, his head on joong-ki's shoulder and his tears making joong-ki's shirt wet. and joong-ki let him. he knew he had to do something. after all, he was the reason taecyeon was crying this way. he had never seen the younger cry this way before. he was horrified. he wiped his eyes and said, "i'm so sorry taecyeon, im so so sorry."

"its fine." taecyeon sniffed.

"should we continue or do you wanna go back home?" joong-ki asked.

"i'll go back home." taecyeon said. "its not because i'm angry at you, i'm just having a headache."

"oh." joong-ki said. "well, call me if anything happens."

"sure." taecyeon said. he waved at joong-ki and went to his car. the moment he shut the door, his phone rang.

"yeah, yeah, i'm coming." he said. "i'll be there in....lets say....10 minutes."

"alright them." the other line said. "dont take too long."

"of course, mom." taecyeon said. the other line chuckled, then hung up.

he drove to his building, then got out of the car and entered. his employees were rushing around everywhere, but stopped and bowed the moment he entered. it was clear that they all were afraid of him.

he went up to his office and opened the glass doors

he went up to his office and opened the glass doors. he was greeted by his secretary sipping her coffee. she stood up and bowed for a moment, then got back up again.

"whats wrong?" she asked.

"nothing." taecyeon said, sitting on his chair at the desk.

"i know something is wrong. please tell me what it is. i promise i won't tell anyone." the secretary (imma call her miss kim now this is too much.) said.

a tear suddenly dropped on the paper that taecyeon was holding, and miss kim looked at it in shock. then she looked up at taecyeon, and saw that he was crying.

"boss, whats wrong?" she asked, coming to him.

taecyeon dropped the paper he was holding and looked at miss kim.

"i...i...' he didn't complete his sentence. he just stood there, crying silently.

miss kim hugged him, although she was pretty short compared to this 187 cm tall giant. she stroked his back and said, "its okay, you can take your time to tell me whats on your mind and whats troubling you. you can tell me."

taecyeon slowly hugged her back.

"he-he rejected me. he said he d-doesn't feel the s-same w-way." taecyeon told her.

miss kim hugged him tighter. "don't worry." she said. "i''m sure you'll find someone much better than him."

"there's no one better than him. i wanted him." taecyeon said. "i won't be able to fall for anyone else now that i have met him."

but taecyeon was wrong.

he would meet someone else.

but he didn't know.

he didn't know that it would hurt him more when he would fall for someone else.
