I finally reached the table where my friends were sitting holding onto my lunch, biting on my lip hoping they would not question me much.
"Hey Missy! I heard what happened", Clara asked with mischievously.
"N-nothing much. I-I was just late." I face palmed myself inside for stuttering. No way they would believe that I thought inside my head.
" Ah-Ah-Ahhh... You suck at lying did anyone tell you that before?"
I could feel sweat start to form.
"Yeah", I said hesitantly, "Actually Jo told me that this morning."
"Well spit it out! Let us have a go at it." Joanne said with anticipation.
I sigh and told them the whole story from beginning to the part when Crimson and Clara stopped. They wouldn't let me finish. And I wonder which part they interrogate me on? That's right. The one part I did not want to talk about, the guys. The whole time their attention was fully on me.
"You see.. the thing is.... I didn't really mean it."
Clara then said,"Yeah.... uhuh. Now tell us.'
"Fine. You got me. Promise you won't freak out."
"I swear." All of them immediately answered before they started looking at each other with confused faces. But that did not last long until their eyes were back at me.
"So I was running to class right? So I saw them and for no apparent reason I kinda shouted at them telling them to go to class?" I said nervously with a question at they end.
"WHAT?!?" They once again said it together much to my amazement and I could say a little too loud.
"Shhh... Someone might hear you....", I warned them but slowly died out because my friends started to stare at something or someone behind me with their mouth wide open.
"Hey you. Turn around." I could not recognize the voice but I could say I fell in love with its crisp, velvet, low tone. I could now notice the cafeteria was all quiet and focused on me and my mysterious new company. I wondered in my head who it was and panicked inside. Was I in trouble? I knew they should of not spoke so loudly.
I hesitantly turned to face the owner of the alluring voice. It was my mistake. I faced three celestial faces of Ryder, Hale, and Colin. I gulped knowing I was in a deep like hell deep kind of mess. I shut my eyes and blurted.
"I'm sorry!"
The sound echoed in the room. I then grasp that he was in the middle of speaking a sentence. I cursed myself internally. Damn. I nervously opened my eyes one at a time to look at them.
Hale, most likely narrowed one of his eyes while the two other faced away to miserably attempt to cover a snicker.
Hale studied my face for a moment and unexpectedly tried to cover a laugh with his hand which made my heart thump. What?!? Me? I felt my face redden a shade to red.
After he finished laughing, he said something that surprised me.
"It's okay. We just wanted to see who you were and like because not many people have the courage to talk to us that way like in the morning knowing who we are. We were just curious. Sorry for interrupting your lunch. We won't bother you anymore unless something happens. Have a nice day."
Hale smiled at me after his monologue and each of the brothers waved me good bye one by one before heading out. My face deepened a darker shade of red with each gesture. I think I could die happily now. What's wrong with me? I don't know. I might be one of the girls just added on the list of girls who fell for them but no way in hell I going to admit that!
I turned around and put my head on my arms I placed on the table laughing inwardly and processing what just happened. It was one of those moments that I am just dumbfounded. Shocked could be another word for it but not the bad shock like when something bad happens but the good one with the amazing surprise kind.
After the coast was clear of the boys. My friends started questioning me and people gathered at the table astonished by what happened. It was most likely because a one in a million chances the princes of ice actually interacted with someone other then themselves and their friends. They live up to the name. They never dated anyone even though with those looks and charms even Venus would fall in love with them. Some girls try to boast that they kissed them or dated them but all know that the princes would never do that.
Their grades vary form each brother. Hale had the top, like the top internationally. No idea how he got there. I was once tempted to ask him to tutor me but then I remembered that was only a faraway dream. Colin had good grades but not as good as Hale. Like maybe the tenth or fifth in the school. Raven was different form his brothers. He didn't really care about grades so he had about average grades. He was more like a type to hang out and play rather than study.
One thing they all had in common was their looks. Their piercing eyes could send fear into you or enchant you. On some occasions they were gentle. Their muscular build but not like muscle man buff was a strong point and their different hair styles displayed different personalities.
Anyway, aside form that for now, I was currently bombarded with questions. There were so many, only half the people got to ask before the lunch bell rang. Even though there were questions, I didn't bother answering them. Most of them asked the same thing like " what's your relationship with them, "are you guys close", and "can you introduce them to me".
Besides all the questions, I also received death glares form jealous girls who have nothing at all to be jealous about. When bell rang, My friends and I had to part ways because we had different classes sadly but their taunting stares I received from them as they head to their classes told me me I was going to go through another interrogation after school. I sigh and massage my temples. Long day today I thought.
~ Hale's POV ~
My brothers and I walked out of the cafeteria when out of nowhere my brother Colin bursted into laughter.
"What?" I asked suspiciously.
He replied choking on his words in between chuckles.
"Her-her face. Was-was priceless. Di-did you see it?"
Ryder and I could helped but laugh ourselves for a whole 2 minutes before we calmed ourselves.
"We caught another one by accident didn't we?" Raven asked with a smirk.
"Yeah." I replied with a nod and down the hall we walked with a confident stride toward our personal lounge at the end.
I was glad Father gave us our own room and teachers. We wouldn't have to worry about being late for class or any hindrances.
What a fun day so far I thought.
