I crept into class with caution. I was well aware that another one of the brothers might be there. But contradicting my prediction, there was none. I sighed in relief and calmly walked to my seat. Not having any of the brothers breathing down my neck or near me calmed my nerves and made me smile.
I listened to the lecture for once with a smile on my face. I was sure people thoughts was creepy because other than the students in my class, the teacher tried to avert his gaze from me. I didn't care I'd say at least. No. I was relieved.
After one more class, lunch came. I walked happily towards the table my friends were sitting at. They stopped talking as soon as they saw me and stared at me. The smile on my face must be unlike me to earn such attention. I frown at that thought and sat down at my seat.
"Did you hear the news?"
Joanne blurted out before Crimson got to say something. There was an awkward moment because her mouth hang open about to say something before her words were stolen. Crimson closed her mouth and glared at Jo for taking her words.
I rolled my eyes.
"No duh. Who hasn't? I walked to class feeling like I might drop any second and fall asleep before awaken by a noise more effective at the job than an alarm clock and almost killing my ears. After all I said, do you still think I did not hear the news?"
"Oh."
That was all Jo could utter before Clara came running to us squealing.
"You can't believe what happened! Our girl here has a special seat."
She placed her hands firmly on my shoulders glancing at us intently when she reached where I was sitting before plopping herself in her own chair.
She leaned close as if she were about to tell a secret and spoke softly with excitement splattered all over her words.
"In the morning, Ryder was in our first class and he actually chose to sit next to where Layla was sitting. Being a good friend I am, let him take my seat and moved to another place. We have one lucky girl here."
I flustered a slight red at the memory and blushed even harder when I remembered I also sat next to Hale. No way I was going to tell my friends that though. One brother was already a hand full to take care of.
Jo and Crimson squealed before turning to me and asking how it was like.
I rolled my eyes once more and said it was nothing special.
The two major fans of the brothers gave a look at each other which held a secret message and both, on either side, started to annoy me.
They started poking me arms and cheeks nonstop and protesting.
"Tell us. Please. We won't make a BIG deal out of it. Tell us."
I believed no word of what they said. I just let them poke me until they let go and changed the subject.
I was in the middle of their poking spree closing my eyes pretending it was a massage when all of a sudden it stopped. It ceased earlier than I expected. I smiled in appreciation because my imagination wasn't taking me that far and their actions were starting to get on my nerves.
Then, I heard shuffling and the sound of three chairs being pulled out. It can't be that they are mad at me for not answering them. I opened my eyes to check if my intuition was true. but, unfortunately, it was not.
Some may say that I was such a cruel friend for thinking that but they would not know of what the situation was. I was agitated and shocked that the three princes sat before my eyes. Their physical features were more clear and beautiful up close.
I could see now their perfect tan skin and glimmering eyes. Their lips were a beautiful shade of red. Their broad shoulders looked more muscular and their messy hair got my heart beating erratically. I had no idea why God would make such guys with features beyond angels. if you thought guy angels looked hot then these guys would look ten times hotter.
I grew annoyed because they seemed to follow me like a mother goose and so I asked them.
"Why are you here?"
Ryder gave his best pout that just melted my heart but earned chuckles from his brothers and replied.
"We're new to this system of education so we thought we might sit here where we know someone familiar."
He smirked at the end of his sentence and high-five his brothers. I rolled my eyes and caught sight of my friends.
They were switching between them and me gaping and seemingly having a speech deficiency at the moment. Clara pointed and me and them with her message clear as day written all over her dumbfounded face. If the guys weren't here, I would be laughing at her expression. Her face read you know them?
I sighed and started eating my lunch slowly and picking at it at the same time. I desperately avoided their gazes and pretended to be very intrigued by my pesto pasta.
The whole lunch time was very silent and awkward indeed. Not an exchange of words were said and just gazes passed each other at our table.
As soon as the bell rung, I picked up my lunch and started dashing towards the trash can and darting out the cafeteria doors to escape from the suffocating atmosphere.
Next period was PE and I was determined to avoid any brothers and skip it because I did not feel the heart to join in whatever activity the teacher had in store today.
I headed toward the PE teacher as soon as I reached the field outside where the activity would take place. Softball I guessed. I handed the note my mother wrote long time ago saying my ankle was injured or hurt, I can't recall, and asking if I could skip.
She scanned over the words and gave a nod. I walked towards the edge of the field and sat on the grass and grabbed a stick nearby.
I grew the grid in the dirt ground of the field for rounds of tic-tac-toe. I enjoyed playing the game whether I was playing against myself or another person. It stimulated the mind and entertaining.
I played a couple of rounds before a felt a shadow cast above me. I looked up in curiosity and then I regretted it. The one who blocked the sun was Colin and he held a smirk on his face.
I gulped. Not good. Not at all.
