~ Layla's POV ~
The man of everyone's attention now stood in front of the classroom introducing himself.
"Hello classmates. I'm Ryder Vadner as you all know. I am the chairman of the school's son. Please guide me and welcome me in your class."
At the end of his monologue he gave his billion dollar cheeky smirk. The girls squealed and the boys expression turned to jealousy knowing they would never be able to be able to compete against him.
For some unknown reason, my gut told me that the smirk had some unclear meaning behind it and was meant for me. I felt my cheeks fluster and my heart beat faster. I lowered to head and held my pencil to scribble on the paper before me to try to wear out the sensation and hope he would not notice me.
"Welcome Ryder to French. I expect you have some experience in this language and hope you can participate in class discussions. And.. ah! A seat. You may -"
Mr. Wales said in a kind tone trying to win Ryder's favor before he was abruptly interrupted by him. Just weird. Just too weird. Usually he would lecture the person to death who would do such a thing but I could see his expression stiffen then struggle to relax at the same moment.
"Sorry for interrupting you Mr. Wales but I already know where I want to sit. If I may?"
"Of course. Go ahead."
Ryder's tall stature slowly walked down between the row of desks. Each stride was filled with confidence. He soon approached Clara's desk. My palms were sweating while I continued scribbling faster. I prayed in my head over and over again. Please keep walking. Please don't stop. Please keep walking. I will even give you my treasured pens and pencils. Just please go.
I anxiously sat in my seat in wait closing my eyes tightly. All my senses stopped working. Time seemed to pause.
I felt some shuffling and some voices suddenly and cautiously opened one eye to see if dire pleas have worked. But all my efforts seem to be in vain.
My world collapsed. The person who sat next to my was no longer Clara. No. She moved to a seat three seats behind me, next to some boy with many freckles. The person who sat next me was now the person I wanted to avoid. Ryder Vadner.
I given up hope and opened both my eyes and sighed. I chuckled at my horrible coincidence. I shook my head. No. Way. I was not this lucky. Was my offering of my pens and pencils not enough?
Ryder shot out his hand and said with mischief in his eyes.
"Hello seating partner."
He then smiled like it was the most rational and normal thing to do in the whole entire world.
I started fidgeting and wiped my hands on my skinny jeans. I did not want him to think that I always had sweaty hands or something. That's just ew.
"N-Nice to m-meet you."
I shook his hand along with stuttered greeting I managed to get out. Real smooth Layla. REAL smooth. Now I bet he thinks I am the stuttering girl now. That was not the countenance I wanted to give him.
I quickly let go before I ruined his impression of me any further and faced forward pretending to be very interested in his lecture which no word I understand.
I could feel his curious stare on me which made me more agitated. I sat still as a statue trying to blend in.
~ Ryder's POV ~
This girl intrigued. It used all my endurance to stifle my laugh on the edge of breaking out and destroying the perfect classroom aura.
The way she tried to make herself seem collected, which failed miserably I might add, just proved how worried and aroused she really was. It even made her adorable.
The way she stuttered when she attempted the simplest greeting almost appeared like she had an allergic reaction to me.
I faked a cough to hide a chuckle awaken by my observation of her habits.
This commoner holds my curiosity. She certainly does.
~ Layla's POV ~
The remainder to the period trudged along smoothly with no interaction significant to mention. The sound of his clam breathing, the meager contact between our arms served as a constant reminder of his presence just a millimeter away from me. I had to admit. I melted with each moment.
As soon as the bell rang, I had already packed all my things and speed walked out of the classroom before further interaction between him and I initiated. If there was anymore, I swear I would have fainted.
Clara's high-pitched squealing turned my attention to her. She soon caught up to me and grabbed my arm to make me stop in my frantic escape.
"What?" I asked her with a tiny hint of annoyance. I knew the main idea she was going to talk about but letting her run in her ranting would be more polite for me to do.
So I did. She gossiped on and on about how lucky I was nad how I must have felt. I could not agree with most of her statements but I just kept nodding. I payed no attention at all.
Next class was chemistry. It was not very exciting but hopefully I would not experience my near-death ordeal again.
I walked with a jump in my step to chemistry. I was positive I was not lucky enough to have a another one of the brothers in my class.
I opened the door to chemistry and said with glee then stopped midway.
"Hello Mrs. Bellar. How ar-"
My jaw literally dropped when I spotted a new certain someone in the chair next to mine which i pretty darn sure it was empty the last time I checked.
Damn my luck. My day just was fantastic. How can I sit next to another eye candy wearing glasses? Just curse my luck. My officially new lab buddy was Hale Vadner.

I uploaded this chappy cuz I was bored all of a sudden.
Haha... I might as well kill someone with frustration. Haha. Sorry. Another cliffhanger.
But you know, cliffhangers are what keep stories enticing and exciting.
Look forward to more updates in the future. Probably twice? a week. Or maybe more. Or maybe only once. Depends on my imagination, insipration, and incentive. HAHA. Three "i" words. Tehee. :)
