The creatures we had previously been running from traveled in a large swell overhead of us as we all collectively hid under the Upside Down's version of skull rock. Eddie was beside me, wrapping and arm around my shoulders to make sure I wasn't sitting in a position that would disturb my fresh wounds, and I was clutching the black denim of his jeans and screwing my eyes shut just so I could try and repress the pain I was going through. Robin and Nancy were sitting next to each other, with Robin in the front and Nancy crouching down beside her. Robin had her head buried in Nancy's neck, making a den in the fabric of her long-sleeve shirt. All our our chests heaved as if someone was pushing down on our throats and forcing us to. My eyes aimlessly checked the nearby forest for any bats that could've come down looking for us, but found none. I grunted lightly as a shock of pain jolted in my stomach, and I bit down harder onto my bottom lip, burrowing my face in Eddie's wet shoulder.

He looked over at me, and began patting my shoulder gently, "Hang in there Harrington." He whispered softly into my ear. "Hang in there."

The hoard of bats passed through our area, and Robin slowly but surely craned her neck out of Nancy's shoulder, taking a look at our surroundings. "Oh... okay." She exhaled, stepping over the vine right beside her foot. "That was close." She respired, stumbling over her own feet as she straightened her back out. Nancy followed her out of our hiding place at the same pace. "Yeah. Too close." Nancy said, her voice cracking mid-sentence as she extended her back out fully and stood beside Robin outside of Skull Rock, examining our surroundings.

I stood up just in time for my eyesight to falter again, and my vision went blurry in an instant. "Oh, sh.. shit." I groaned as I fell against a wall of pure rock, finding comfort in the rest I was getting from leaning there. Eddie turned his body around, his head following shortly after. "Steve?" He asked me, and seeing my state he immediately took notice of the fact I wasn't doing too hot. "Jesus." He gasped, stepping towards me, aswell as over the vines that creeped between every crevice of this wretched place.

I shook my head, grabbing onto the rock beside me for support. "I'm fine. I'm fine." I told him as he looked down at my bare stomach, his eyes glued to the two bloodied marks that had grown since the last time he took a look at them. "No, no, no. You're not. You're losing blood." He babbled, holding his outstretched palms before my gash, looking up at me with his brown eyes and wavy hair. "Come on, sit." He said, looking forward at me, meeting my already lingering stare. "All right?" He guided my body downwards by setting a tender hand on the thick skin of my shoulder and slowly pushing my upper body down into the dirt-paved ground.

I slid down the rocky exterior slowly, and then fell the last few inches to the ground with a grunt leaving my lips. I winced as my skin bunched up against my pants, right where the scars laid, and held a hand just below the injury, Eddie gave me a soothing glance. "All right." He said, nodding at me. Then averting his gaze to where my hand was.

I moved the hand that was on my hip to my bite, covering the wound the bats had left on me. I slid finger across the gooey outer layer, then I removed my hand from it with a groan, and a wet sound emerged from the skin around it. Robin saw and her eyes widened. "Oh.." she breathed, taking a few steps towards me, her eyes glued to the marks that were left on me. I groaned in pain, my stomach burning with anticipation for Eddie to do something about it. Eddie gave me a second before taking off his jacket and vest, letting them fall onto the ground behind him in a discarded pile. He began tearing fabric from his beloved Hellfire t-shirt, right beneath where the devil's nose started, exposing his lower body, lapped with rather surprising abs and pale skin. I stared at him the best I could through my blurry eyes, but threw my head back as another jolt of pain thrummed through my veins and pushed more blood out of my stomach. "Okay. So the good news here is I'm pretty sure wooziness is not a symptom of rabies." Robin babbled as Eddie continued ripping apart his shirt, circling his head around to make sure he wasn't taking too much more than he needed. "But if you start feeling aggressive, like you wanna punch me, totally let me know." She went on, her hand spazzing out beside her in crazed gestures. I brought my head back down from it's high, looking down at my wounds, screwing my eyes shut in pain and clamping my teeth together. "Robin?" I choked out in between my tight throat. She looked at me, her bright blue eyes housing a playful glint. "Yeah?"
