Once upon a time
A long time ago
My heart fell in love
And it wasn't a traditional everyday love
It was the need you
They want you
The can't be without you, kind of love
I would smile for hours
So thankful that I found you
So sure and so positive
You were exactly where I was meant to be
And I couldn't imagine
That a day or time would ever come
And change everything about our love
But it did
Years and time
Trails and troubles
Have taken us on a rollercoaster
That sometimes didn't seem to end
And before we even knew it
Our hearts were broken-down
So worn out and damaged
From what we have seen
All that we have been through
And all that we experienced
And our love turned to comfort
The comfort of knowing someone was there
But those feelings of excitement and passion
Somehow faded away along with you
And now I'm left wondering
Where it all went amiss
Between you and me
