"That was how suddenly my breathing returned to normal."

"Death!"

I quickly glanced at my friends as they came my way. They also seemed to be in a frenzy.

Before addressing my friends, I cast a brief glimpse at Mamu and Theo, "What the heck happened?"

"We're all surprised when many people start to flee that spot, babe; we don't know what's going on too." Mabilis na paliwanag ni Yeji sa akin habang tinuturo ang nasa likod nila. Hinihingal pa ito at aligaga habang inaayos ang nagulong buhok.

"After that, a lot of monsters began to chase them." Demi continued, but unlike Yeji, she appeared to be more composed.

"Nako po, papaano na tayo nito Theo ijo." Rinig kong turan ni mamu, malapit lamang sa pwesto amin.

Lumingon ako sa tinitingnan nila at hindi ko alam kung anong reaksyon ang nakapaskil ngayon sa mukha ko. I can't see myself right now, but I'm positive that my skin is gradually becoming paler. Sa raming creatures dito bakit 'yon pa.

"The fuck?"

"No way.."

What they're seeing has no doubt stunned my friends as well. I'm hearing their voices but I can't figure out what it is. It seems as though I am lost in my own realm.

Trees are falling, stone homes are collapsing, and the small arc bridge in the middle is now destroyed as a result of the gigantic creature's constant destruction of this area. Due to that creature, even the tiny brook has lost water.

"We need to kill that!"

I grip the book in my right hand, completely oblivious to what is going on and relying only on what I am grasping. I'm unable to pay attention to what they are saying because I can't take my eyes off of that creature.

"Gosh, let's go."

I'll definitely fight that with all of my might if I just had the magic. I won't be terrified of just some insignificant creature. The petty thing would simply be a pest if I could cast some magic.

"Protect them!"

Why did I become into this? a regular person? Why am I the only one who feels this way? All the things I desired to do can be done by youngsters and people much younger than me. At this point, even a toddler could fortify myself.

"C'mon guys! let's go to the safe area!"

I tighten my grasp on the book and raise it. Finally, I fixed my sight to the book I'm holding. This is a rare grimoire, according to Mamu but I can't see it and I don't know what does she mean by that. Can this book really help me?

"Tara na po, dito po tayo."

I flipped open the book I was carrying. There was nothing unusual about it now as well as when I first saw it. There are old and blank pages visible, along with grime and dry water stains.

"Heean! dito!"

I read every page of it all the way through. On its back, a cat emblem is imprinted. Even though it still surprises me, I'm beginning to come to grips with what's happening, particularly that snout. Perhaps it's Kitt's mark. I thought.
