Ark: The Path To Remnant. (Ark x RWBY)

Raymond's goal.

Velvet pov:

It's the dead of night after the little party Raymond and Velvet had with the Old Island Alliance. Velvet wakes up hearing footsteps in the workshop. She gets up and carefully closes the door. She makes her way towards the workshop and peaks around the corner to see Raymond at another door on the other side. Raymond enters and shuts the door behind him. Velvet decides to see what Raymond is doing, but is stopped by a hand on her shoulder. Turning around she sees Trevor.

Trevor: "I know what you're thinking lass, but it's not something you should try to be nosey about."

Velvet: "Do you know what Raymond does in there?"

Trevor: "Yes. Take a seat it's a long story."

They head to the table and sit down.

Trevor: "As you know we're the Old Island Alliance, but do you know why we call ourselves that?"

Velvet: "No."

Trevor: "Well before the Blackhearts appeared we were all in different groups, tribes if you will. I was second in command of a tribe called the Painted Sharks, Sandra was the leader of the scouting parties for a tribe called the Howling Wolves, Barry was just Running around the Island beating anything he could with his club, and Giovanni was a wanderer who we all addressed as the Beast Bard."

Trevor looks down a bit.

Trevor: "Despite all of us wanting to live peacefully war occasionally broke out between different tribes. However there was one person everyone could turn to who helped settle these disputes. His name was Sir Edmund Rockwell. He helped bring peace to the Island before war could completely take over. And in cases war did erupt people would turn to a different individual. Her name was Li Mei Yin, though many knew her as the Beast Queen. And another individual people would turn to for knowledge of the Islands wildlife was a woman named Helena Walker. Despite all three having different areas of expertise they all had one thing in common. Care to guess?"

Velvet: "Did they all want to help bring peace to the Island?"

Trevor smirks.

Trevor: "Nope. They all wanted to protect the Island child."

Velvet tilts her head in confusion.

Velvet: "The Island child?"

Trevor: "Yep, but you know him as Raymond."

Velvet looks shocked.

Velvet: "What?"

Trevor: "Yeah. Raymond appeared on the Island when he was 7 years old. As you can imagine being that young and not knowing where your parents are is quite terrifying. Especially if you're on an Island that constantly has problems and is full of wildlife that can kill you in a matter of minutes. It wasn't all bad though. Helena and Rockwell raised Raymond and taught him the skills he has today, and Mei Yin taught him how to fight other people since the New Legion was growing increasingly more aggressive."

Velvet: "So where are they? Ms. Walker, Mr. Rockwell, and Ms. Mei Yin?"

The door Raymond entered is heard opening.

Raymond: "That's what I'm trying to find out."

They both turned to look at him.

Trevor: "R-raymond I was expecting you to be in there longer."

Raymond looks at Trevor.

Raymond: "I know you were filling her in on my past."

Velvet: "Well do you know where they were last seen?"

Raymond: "They were last seen at the volcano. However there's a cave inside of it, and the caves entrance is sealed by some kind of futuristic door. From what I've read of the journals they left behind there's supposed to be three keys, and in order to get them you need these strange artifacts."

Velvet: "Any idea where these artifacts are?"

Raymond looks down defeated.

Raymond: "Apparently they are in the caves scattered throughout the Island. Sadly I've tried to get one of them, but had to retreat due to all the insects, bats, spiders, and snakes."

Velvet: "Those are small why did you need to retreat?"

Raymond: "The smallest craetures in those caves are Dung Beetles, and they are nearly the same size as Fang."

Velvet's eyes widen.

Velvet: "You're kidding right? There's no way bugs can get that big."

Trevor: "It's the truth."

Velvet: "Well why don't we all go together? Surely all of us together can get through them."

Sandra: "CAN Y'ALL SHUT THE HELL UP?! SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO SLEEP HERE!"

Raymond: "We'll talk about it tomorrow. Night Velvet, Night Trevor."

Trevor: "Night kiddos."

Velvet: "Night guys."

Everyone then proceeded to fall asleep.
