3rd person pov:

We see Raymond and Trevor open a large gate as Sandra, Barry, and Giovanni walk out with their creatures.

Raymond: "You guys sure you got everything? You can stay longer if necessary?"

Giovanni: "That's a great offer Raymond, but we really should get going."

Raymond: "Alright, well my doors are always open to you. Feel free to stop by."

Trevor: "Take care kid. I'm sure Helena, Rockwell, and Mei Yin would be proud of you."

Sandra: "We'll stop by to visit again kid. And next time I want the truth behind your new friends ears."

Raymond: "For the umpteenth time Sandra. She said they're real. Take that as you will."

They start to head out untill Giovanni calls out to Raymond.

Giovanni: "Here take this."

Raymond: "What is it?"

Giovanni: "A whistle I tried making, but it doesn't seem to work. However it did get the attention of Nova and Anastas. I just figured I'd give it to you as a sign of friendship. Anywho take care Raymond."

He heads back to the Alliance as Raymond heads back to his base and finds a half awake Velvet. He heads to his fridge and hands her a bottle with a green liquid in it.

Raymond: "Drink this. It might not taste the best, but it will wake you up damn quick."

Velvet drinks it, but struggles to keep it down and as Raymond said it wakes her up almost instantly.

Velvet: *Gags* "Thanks for telling me, but you're right. I'm ready for anything!"

Raymond smirks.

Raymond: "Good, keep that energy. You're gonna need it."

Velvet turns around and sees Raymond toss her a wooden sword.

Velvet: "What do you mean?"

Raymond: "In case we get separated you need to be able to defend yourself from the Blackhearts and small carnivores. Today I'm not your friend, but your teacher. Now follow me outside."

They head outside and stand on opposite sides. Raymond holds his wooden sword in his battle stance. Velvet holds hers in front of her with both hands with her knees bent and her right foot forward. Fang is sitting on the sidelines and then he yips.

Velvet charges forward and goes for an overhead swing. Raymond parries the attack and pushes her sword to the side before kicking her legs out from under her. He helps her up.

Raymond: "You need to be prepared for any opening your opponent may find. If they can take the shot they will. Now again."

She charges again and goes for a side swipe. Raymond steps back then goes for a swing which Velvet blocks as Raymond spins around her as she stumbles forward from pushing against Raymonds attack and Raymond jabs her back. He helps her up again.

Raymond: "Never put your full body weight into blocking an attack. Your opponent can move out of the way throw off your balance and take advantage of your vulnerability. Now again."

This goes on for several hours as Raymond keeps defeating Velvet and gives her pointers on how to improve.

Raymond: "You made progress with your swordsmanship, now we can move onto target practice."

Raymond heads inside the base and comes out with an assault rifle, a sniper, a shotgun, a hunting rifle, a pistol, and a large bag of ammo.

Raymond: "To survive you can't put all your faith in one weapon. You need a variety. Now take your pick in firearm and practice your aim."

Velvet picks up the Assault rifle and takes aim at the test dummy. She fires at it, but doesn't do well due to the recoil. She proceeds to try out each firearm and swapping out to others and starts to get the hang of it.

Raymond: "Your doing better with firearms than me. My aim with them is abysmal. Now onto hand to hand. For situations where you're disarmed and out of ammo against the Blackhearts."

They once again stand on opposite sides. Velvet rushes Raymond and goes for a punch which Raymond blocks. He goes for a punch which Velvet ducks and goes for a elbow to Raymond's gut, but he brings his leg up to block it and goes for a counter attack by bringing his elbow down towards her back. She then jumps back avoiding the attack as Raymond charges her. He goes for a roundhouse kick which she blocks and pushes against his leg. Using the momentum from Velvet's push Raymond goes for another roundhose kick from the other side. Which Velvet ducks and sweeps Raymond's legs out from under him. She then helps him up.

Velvet: "I can fight best at hand to hand. I did go to a huntsman academy after all."

Raymond: "Huntsman academy?"

Velvet: "Pretty much a school that teaches us how to combat the creatures of Grimm."

Raymond: "Well that sounds really cool. The closest thing we have to that on Earth are police academies."

Velvet: "We have those too."

Raymond looks towards the sky.

Raymond: "Looks like it's getting late. We should go get some sleep."

Velvet: "Agreed. Good night Raymond."

Raymond: "Night Velvet."
