The couple walk out onto the apparatus floor and otis ambushes them as soon as he catches sight.

"Hey, have you two spoken to detective Lindsay?" otis asks, "yeah" kelly confirms, "so? they nail Keeler yet?" otis asks, "turns out Vince Keeler is cooperating in some big-joint investigation between ATF, FBI, smokey the bear" carter explains, "what does that have to do with Katie?" otis asks, "bureau chief won't let Voight's unit touch Keeler without rock-solid evidence, doesn't sound like anything short of a confession's gonna do it" kelly explains, "so he, he" otis stutters, "we know, Otis" kelly agrees, "he just gets away with kidnapping and assault?" otis asks, "look, Lindsay assures us CPD is not giving up, they're doing everything they can, In the meantime, I think it's best we just move past it, you know?" carter says, "yeah, okay" otis agrees, the two walk off in search of clarke finding him in the squad, "Clarke, we're gonna need a little help with something, personal favour" kelly says, "name it" clarke nods, "we're not talking about moving furniture or building decks, and with your recent legal troubles" kelly explains, "spit it out" clarke instructs, "Vince Keeler's gonna make a clean getaway, and Kelly can't live with that, neither can I and neither can Otis, what if he strikes again cause I don't think he's finished with Kelly" carter explains, "I'm free tomorrow night" clarke agrees, kelly nods, the alarm rings, "truck 81, squad 3, ambulance 61".

Squad and 81 pull up seeing shay sending hot packs into a clothing drop, matt instructs herrmann to get the saw and jones takes the instruction instead and ends up dropping the saw.

"Blade's all jacked up" herrmann shouts, "Clarke, grab our saw" carter instructs, clarke grabs the saw and hands it to kelly who pushes carter forward instead, "show her how it's done" kelly instructs handing carter the saw, carter flips her visor down and heads over carrying the saw before taking it to the lock, carter saws the lock in half allowing matt to pull the lock off and get the drop open, "you see that candidate, that's how it's done and would you look at that she didn't drop the saw" herrmann remarks, "I need blankets and a backboard right now, let's move!" gabby instructs, "on it", the two lieutenants stand at the squad taking their gear off with capp and clarke, "so I'm thinking tomorrow night, and listen, we know it's a lot to ask you, you shouldn't feel obligated, but we could use you" kelly explains, "what about Mills? you gonna ask him" capp asks, "no, no boy scouts" clarke disagrees, "I guess 30 days in the lockup wasn't enough for you" capp remarks, "let's just not get caught" clarke muses, jones walks over the two lieutenants, "lieutenant Strand, lieutenant Severide, how's it going?" jones asks, "hey, welcome to 51, Jones" kelly says, "Jones, take it from me it's hard as a female candidate when people aren't sure you're capable but showing off and not listening to your lieutenant makes it seem like you aren't cut out" carter explains, "thanks, I" jones gets cut off by matt, "candidate, I believe the kitchen trash is getting full" matt prompts, "I'll take care of it, sir" jones confirms, "what am I dealing with here?" matt asks, "Jones?" kelly checks, "yeah" matt confirms, "she's smart, she's aggressive, she's talented, but she also has a truly massive chip on her shoulder, she might make a great firefighter someday, but it'll take more patience than we had" carter gives her opinion, "we, we tried to bounce her from the academy, but her big-shot daddy put the kibosh on that one" kelly clarifies, "you're telling me this now?" matt asks, "you just asked now" carter shrugs, the crew sit down at the table in the common room digging into the meal jones had cooked, "guys, you don't need to spare my feelings" jones assures, "well, it's, uh, it's not bad" otis says, "no, it's not bad at all" mills agrees, "but it's not good, I don't know what to tell you, I was always a tomboy growing up, I barely knew where the kitchen was" jones explains, "I told you guys I can still be the cook" cruz pipes up, "Cruz, you drive truck, It's an important job" herrmann responds, "I can do both" cruz offers, "not necessary, Jones graduated at the top of her academy class, I'm sure she can figure out a little basic home ec" matt reasons, "am I gonna be judged for my efforts on the job or behind the stove?" jones asks, "It's all part of the job, jones" matt muses, "okay" jones says, "jones, when you're finished up in here, the showers need cleaning" matt instructs, "no, they don't" jones retorts, "excuse me?" matt asks, "no, they don't, sir" jones corrects, "what I meant was that herrmann already asked me to scrub the showers" jones explains, "so, I'm asking you to scrub them again, candidate" matt instructs.
