The weather that night was great, it was cold but not chilly. The DJ was playing EDM songs that made anyone get up and dance. This is my jam, in Liv's mind.
We were sitting on bean bags while sipping the Mojitarita, my favorite drink in this bar. Our table is by the beach and I enjoy this kind of night after a long day of work.
"Hi, I'm Liv." This hottie guy was surprised when I stopped him as he passed our table. I continued, "Here's my friend, Shania. We're working in an Advertising agency, and she's looking for a model for an upcoming ad. Are you up for it?" I was talking loudly so he could hear me.
He looked at me and extended his hand, "Hi, I'm Chris. So, you think I fit that role?" He gave me a very charming smile.
I felt uncomfortable, I wasn't ready for that cute smile. "I think so. Why not give me your number and I'll get in touch with you for the casting schedule, would that work?" I said it while throwing a look at Shania.
"Of course. Do you want my card or I'll save it on your phone?" He answered with confidence.
I handed him my phone. When he returned my phone, Shania grabbed it from him and asked, "Would you mind if I take a photo of you? Liv has a short-term memory so best if we have your picture."
My jaw dropped and about to hesitate, I saw Chris was touching his nape but said, "I don't mind at all. Can it be me and Liv?"
"I'd love that." Shania said then took some photos.
Chris said his goodbye and reminded me to keep in touch.
"What was that?" Shania confronted me.
I was laughing hard, almost losing my breath. "Oh my gosh! I couldn't take this." I was saying those words in between laughter.
"Do you think that's funny? I wasn't prepared for it. I could have looked at myself first in the mirror." She was conscious if she was looking good. "Can it be me and Liv?" She mimics Chris. "Darn, girl, I thought it was my time to shine."
"I'm sorry, girl. Another point for Liv, woohoo." Saying that while tapping my shoulders. "That Chris guy is a hottie and I got his number." I was teasing Shania.
"If only I'm single, I could have snatched that number from you. Since when did we work together?" She's not taking it. I love it when Shania's pissed. She continued, "Can we just enjoy the night without flirting? This is supposed to be ladies' night." She wanted to sound serious.
Shania's not having it, she continued, "Okay, I give up. It's your night. The guy across the table has been looking at you since we got here."
"Oh, Shania." The only thing I could say. I glanced at the guy before staring back to the beach.
