"Why would Sybil send out a hit on someone?" Scarlet asked Cinder with her arms crossed. "And what is this 'wolf pack'?"

"A gang, maybe?" Cinder said.

The girls were back in Kai's car, driving around aimlessly. No one really wanted to go home after learning such unsettling information. They hadn't even told Winter about what they found yet.

"Whatever it is, I'm going to find out," Scarlet stated.

"Alright, Scar, but don't do anything too dangerous, please," Cinder told her friend. "We know what they're capable of, apparently."

Scarlet sighed. "Not too dangerous. Got it."

Cinder knew her definition of dangerous was not the same as Scarlet's, and there was no stopping that girl when she was determined to right a wrong.

"Should we head back to my house to think about this?" Kai said.

"I'd like to go home now, actually," Scarlet said. "But you two should totally go over to Kai's house, you know, to talk," she added. Cinder turned back to her and gave her a glare while Scarlet merely smirked at her.

"Uh...okay," Kai said.

The rest of the ride was fairly quiet, with Cinder occasionally pointing out the places in the city she had lived in before the Linhs.

Scarlet was glad to finally get home. Her mind had been swimming with ideas which she wasn't ready to share with Cinder just yet. She needed to figure this out on her own.

When she got home, she went straight for the computer. She sighed as she nearly sat in her grand-mère's favorite chair, before moving to the one next to it.

"Wolves San Francisco"

She scrolled through results about wolves on the northern outskirts of the city before coming across an article about a bar fight gone wrong four years ago.

Four members of the Wolves gang were arrested for destruction of property while two were arrested for aggravated assault

She kept reading until she came across a photo of two members' mugshots. On one of them, she could see a tattoo of a full moon and a dagger.

Where had she seen that tattoo before?

She gasped and shut the laptop when she realized why it was so familiar.

"Wolf," Scarlet said before pulling him to an alcove in the school hallway.

"Ow," he said, and she rolled her eyes.

She lifted up his sleeve, and there it was. A full moon and a dagger.

"We need to talk," she said.

"Well, I have algebra," he said matter-of-factly.

She huffed. "Meet me after school. And don't be late."

He smirked. "I like when you're bossy."
