(I hope you guys are enjoying)
Jack got himself into another mess of course. He certainly played me like a fool, and I fell for it. I thought he was different from every other guys. Different from any other newsie, including Spot's. After growing up around a bunch of boys, Jack seemed different. The thought went away when there was a knock at my door.
"Come in!"
The door opened revealing Spot, "David told me why you was upset."
Of course he did, "And?"
"Jack's a jerk." Spot walked over, taking a seat on my bed, "He was looking for you. Jack, That was before he got sentenced to the boys home."
"The refugee. Of course."
He rolled his eyes, "Jack seemed upset about it too."
You've got to be kidding me, "He is? He's the one who ran to Sarah after we-" I stopped myself.
"What did you two do?!" Spot was filled with shock.
Gross, "Ew Spot! Not what you're thinking. We just kissed." I looked at him disgusted.
"Right." He swallowed hard.
"So why are you telling me this anyways?" I walked over to the clothes pile laying in my chair, beginning to fold them.
"Because. Jack seems to really care about you."
I scoffed rolling my eyes, keeping my back towards him.
"I hate to say it."
"I'm sure you do."
"Whatever," Spot walked to the door before speaking again, "David is waiting for you."
"David?" What was he doing here? I walked to the door, swinging it open, "David?
"Hey Y/n. I was wondering if you would help Jack escape?" He shrugged.
----
"I can't believe you convinced me to do this."
David laughed lightly as we walked to the refugee, "Jack made a mistake. But have you ever thought there was a reason behind it?"
"What? That he totally played me and got with Sarah."
"Whatever you say."
We made another turn, ending up at the refugee. David and I watched a carriage pull in.
"It's Jack." David whispered as we ducked down.
Jack walked to the carriage before entering, "where are they taking him?" I whispered.
David removed his hat standing up, "There's only one way to find out. Ill meet you at the square."
I stand up along with him, "Your leaving alone? You drug me all the way out here. I'm going with you."
David looked at the other newsies before nodding.
----
"This is the dumbest idea I have ever seen." I found my self holding on to the carriage along with David.
He shushed me quietly as we pulled into a gated home. The ride soon came to a stop. Jack followed Snyder and a few men into the home. David slowly climbed under the carriage, detaching the horse from the carriage.
----
Jack walked down the stairs as David shouted for him. Jack ran along with us out of the home. After running for some time we finally came to a stop.
"You guys shouldn't of came!" Jack looked at me for a long time, "You shouldn't of came." He whispered stepping closer, "They could put you in Jail Dave. Far worse for you Y/n."
My eyes stayed glued to my shoes. I knew Jack was looking. I just couldn't talk to him after what happened.
"I don't care Jack." David announced.
Jack grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, pushing him against the wall, "What about your family? What happens to them if you go to jail?" Jack put his finger to David's chest, "You don't know nothing about jail. But, thanks for what you done. Now get out of here."
I was tired of listening to this, "You want us to leave after we helped you?"
Jack look softened when he looked at me.
"I don't understand!"
Jack looked back at David, "I don't understand either. Just get out of here!"
"No!" I yelled at him.
"Go!" Jack yelled back.
"You confuse me Jack. You really do." And with that, David and I left.
