Chapter 14: Fear the Consequences

The kids were stunned, especially Michael. "I..I don't understand. I don't remember anything about Chris's father and I would never kill anyone." said Michael as he slowly shed tears. Violet comforts him. "Mom, can you get a closer look at Michael in the footage?" asked Violet as Helen rewinds the footage and stops where it showed his face. "Look, his eyes were purple. He was under a spell. Someone controlled him." said Violet. "I know who did it. Nightmare had a partner who experimented on me, his name is Brainiac, a crazed scientist. That explains why I couldn't remember anything that night." said Michael. "What if Chris finds out, he'll be so upset. He has to understand that he was under his control." said Dash. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. It was Chris. "Oh no, it's Chris!" said Violet. "Everyone, act natural!" said Michael as they hid everything and did normal activities. He then opens the door. "Hey, Chris. What brings you here, man?" said Michael nervously. "You left your bag at school. I thought I would bring it to you." said Chris as he handed him his bag. "Thanks, man." said Michael. Chris noticed him sweating. "Uh, are you okay? You're sweating." said Chris. "Oh it's nothing. Just had a long day at P.E class." said Michael. "Okay? Anyway, there's going to be a music festival at the park. Me and Carla are going. Do you and Vi want to come with us?" asked Chris. "Sure. Sounds great." said Michael. "Cool! See you guys at 6." said Chris as he leaves. "Ok, it went pretty well." said Michael. "Kids, remember. Not a word about this to Chris or Carla." said Bob as the kids nodded. Michael went upstairs and fell on his bed, groaning. Violet then enters his room. "Michael?" said Violet. "Go away, Violet. I'm in no mood to talk." said Michael. Violet sighed but entered his room anyway. "Listen, if you keep acting like this, the truth is gonna come out. Besides, like Mom said, if we don't say a word about it. Nothing will happen." said Violet comforting Michael. "Ok. But it's gonna be awkward." said Michael. An hour later, Chris, Carla, Michael and Violet met up and headed for the music festival. They actually had a good time and no suspicion at all. "Wow, this festival has been a blast!" said Carla as Chris laughed. "It felt great singing songs together." said Chris as Violet and Michael smiled. "Thanks for coming along guys. I'm glad you enjoyed it." said Chris. "Well, we better get going. Both of our mothers are on their way back on vacation and we got to get ready for their return. See you guys!" said Carla as she and Chris head home. Leaving Michael and Violet alone. "Well, that wasn't so bad. It actually was pretty fun." said Michael. Suddenly, there was a loud boom. It came from Nomanisan Island. "What was that?!" exclaimed Violet as they all saw the explosion on Nomanisan. They all see the Incrediboat on the island. "Mom, Dad, Dash! Come on, we need to help them." said Violet as Michael nodded. They all were in their supersuits and headed for Nomanisan. Meanwhile, the Incredibles were fighting Brainiac, who made himself leader of the island after the supposed death of Nightmare. "You're finished, Incredibles! Without help from your friends you shouldn't be able to beat me!" said Brainiac. Suddenly, Violet and Michael arrived. "Need a hand?" said Soulblade as the family smiled and faced Brainiac. He noticed Valor. "Valor? Your siding with the Incredibles? I can't believe you would kill your father!" said Brainiac. "You know why I left him! I choose to stand against evil!" said Soul. "So be it. Men ATTACK!!" yelled Brainiac as his soldiers charged. The Incredibles fought the soldiers but were overwhelmed. "There's too many of them!" said Dash. "Stand your ground!" said Mr. Incredible. Suddenly, Amoux and Aurora burst into the room, blasting them away. Brainiac noticed Amoux.
