I was rudely awoken by Steve, who demanded I come to work with him today so I wasn't stuck home alone.

I laid in my bed staring at him, with no intention of getting up until he grabbed a pillow and threw it at my face.

"Steve! What the fuck!"

"Get up! Let's go!" He clapped his hands.

I rolled my eyes, pushing him out of my room so I could get ready to leave.

"And hurry!" He screamed through my door.

"Okay, mom!"

Once we arrived at Family Video, I decided to help organize some movies rather than sit around and do nothing. I heard Robin and Steve complaining about their love lives in the background.

"I'm hopeless." She backs up against the wall.

"We both are." Steve does the same and I walk out to stand in front of them.

"If only we could just like.. combine." Robin says and I try to hold in my laugh.

"Combine?" Steve looks at her as if she's a total weirdo, which she is.

"No.. think about it. I know exactly what I want, and I found the girl of my dreams but I just can't get the courage to ask her out, meanwhile, you go on like a million dates and you have no idea what you want."

"Mhm." Steve shakes his head.

"That actually makes sense." I say.

"I know, so if we just combine, all our problems would be solved."

"Ohh.." Steve says.

"Because I mean, alone, let's face it.."

"We totally suck." "Totally and utterly."

"Oh! I think I found our morning movie." She holds up Doctor Zhivago.

"Ugh, you know I don't do double VHS."

"But it's about doomed love!"

"Oh, well that's relatable."

"Julie Christie?" I say.

"She is b-b-bonkers HOT in this. Like seriously the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in my life." I follow her and she turns on the TV, and suddenly the news is displaying in front of us.

"We're in the Forest Hills trailer park in east Roane County-"

"Wait- what?!" I say, panicking.

"That's where Eddie and Max live!" I continue.

"The body of a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning. Police have not released the victims name." And my heart dropped.

"Holy shit." Steve said and I felt like I was hyperventilating.

What if something happened to them?

Robin must've realized cause she rushed over to me and held onto my body as I tightly hugged her. Steve came over to us and rubbed my back.

"Sage, listen. I'm sure everything is fine don't-"

And as if on cue, Max and Dustin burst through the door. They stared at me with concern, but the only thing running through my mind, now that I knew Max was safe, was "Where is Eddie?"

"How many phones do you guys have?"

"Someone was murdered." Steve said.

"How many phones do you have?!" Dustin repeated.
