"So, Beatrice the mom Monaghan, long time no see."Eddie walked on a log next to me.
"Eddie the freak Munson, where'd you get that name from?"I laughed looking up at him.
"Who do you think? Steve the hair Harrington of course."he smiled down at me.
"He's just trying to cover the fact that he's actually the mom, him and Billy at least."
"Y'know, I didn't think you'd ever really be with a guy like Hargrove."he hopped off the end of the log, walking next to me.
"Really? How ironic."I giggled
"Yeah, I definitely took you for a 'I'm into freaks type of girl'."
I looked up at him, memories of us together flashing in my head.
"What gave you that idea?"
"I don't know, a little birdie told me you were into a freak before. And that freak, was really broken when you ended things."his smile faded, same with mine.
"Eddie-"
"When did you fall, out of love?"
"Eddie I-"
"Okay, babe. I need your opinion, do you think Max should not be able to date until she's thirty-two, or she should at least get a say in when she can date?"Billy asked, wrapping his arm around my neck, Max and James walking besides him.
"That was so not the other option. He shouldn't get to choose when I can date, that's my choice-"
"That's like asking if a women should be able to get an abortion or not, it's our body, our choice. So their for, her life and relationship, her choice."I grinned at him, Max giving me a high five.
"What? No-"
"Billy."I looked up at him.
"Fine. If she wants to get her heart broken this young, that's on her."he held his hands up.
Max and James grinned at each other before walking off.
I looked back at Eddie, only to see he was again. I looked up seeing him walking with his head down.
I pulled out of Billy's grip looking up at him, "Steve and Matt want to talk to you."
With that I ran to Eddie's side, poking it.
"You okay? I'm sorry they interrupted our conversation from before-"
"It's fine. It was nothing important anyways."he gave me a soft smile. I returned it looking ahead, seeing water.
"Oh no. I am not going back there."Eddie stopped in his tracks. Making me crash into his back, him not even budging when I did so.
"C'mon Eddie-"
"No. No way. That's where the jock was killed, the exact same thing that happened to Chrissy, I'm not going back there."
♡♡♡♡
"You said there was only room for five."Dustin shouted as Billy and Steve hopped on the boat.
They both shrugged.
"You guys are really great babysitters."Max huffed.
"They call me Billy-sitter for a reason."Billy grinned, wrapping his arms around me.
Dustin Lucas and James pushed the little boat into the water.
I looked over at Eddie, his knee was bouncing rather quickly, I pulled away from Billy to sit next to Eddie, I placed my hand on his knee, he smiled at me.
"You'll be okay."I smiled
"I hope."
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, bringing him into a comforting hug while Billy and Steve paddled us to the middle of the water.
"Ok it can't just be me that notices the obvious tension between Eddie and Bea, there has to be a past between you two. Right?"Robin spoke up.
Nancy stared at me with a grin, Steve looked annoyed, Billy looked confused and mad, Eddie looked flustered.
"Um. I'd rather not talk about that right now."I coughed, backing away from Eddie.
"No, no. I want to hear it too."Billy said
"Bea and I, have a past. That's all."Eddie shrugged
"What kind past, Bea?"Nancy teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
"A, romantic one."I mumbled looking in the water, "Guys, there's something down there."
Steve looked over the edge, staring at the faint red light.
Him and Billy immediately started stripping down, tearing their shirts and boots off.
"What're you doing?"Eddie asked the two.
"Seeing if it's the gate, duh."
"Well I think it's pretty obvious it's the gate so, I don't understand why you have to go down there!"Eddie shouted.
"Here."Billy handed me his shirt leather jacket and boots.
"Oh I feel so honored."I grinned up at him, he flipped me off before jumping in with Steve.
"So, things are pretty serious between you two huh?"Robin asked
"Yeah, I guess."I shrugged, looking at my lap that was covered in Billy's stuff.
"Y'know, I still remember the Beaddie days. Those were fun days. Totally thought you two were endgame."she looked at Eddie, his eyes meeting mine.
"We don't ugh- that was in freshman year, high school sweethearts never last."I shrugged
"But you dated Billy in high school-"
"It's been awhile. One of us should definitely check on them."I cleared my throat, looking in the water.
I jumped back into Eddie when two heads came out of the water.
"Definitely the gate."Steve coughed
"What'd I tell you."Eddie spoke, I finally realized I was still laying on him.
I got off at him, helping him up. I spun around when I heard splashing.
"Steve!"Nancy yelled
"Billy!"I yelled seeing them gone.
I started taking the flannel off, I wrapped it around my waist along with Billy's leather jacket, I held his boots close to me looking over at Nancy.
"Let's go."
"Wait! What are you doing?"Eddie yelled grabbing my hand.
"Saving my boyfriend. Duh."
Nancy and I jumped in, swimming to the red light.
I gasped for air when I stuck my head through, I pulled myself through when I saw Billy and Steve laying on the ground being attacked by bat like things.
I grabbed the oar from Nancy, smacking one off of Billy.
"Hey."I smiled down at him.
