"Mommy!"
I turned around, my smile fading.
"What happened?"I bent down, grabbing Max's head examining it.
"I was outside in the shed, and I knocked a bucket of red paint over and it got all over me,"he pouted, looking at his ruined outfit.
"The cans of paint are on the highest shelf, how the hell did you knock one over?"Jonathan squinted his eyes.
"I don't know, I just looked at it and it started moving, and than it just fell on me."Max shrugged, going over to the kitchen sink.
I looked at Nancy, she looked at me with a knowing look.
"What were you thinking when you looked at it?"I walked over too him, helping him get a wet rag to wipe him off.
"I just thought how the outcome would be if it fell on me,"he scrubbed his hands together
"That kids vocabulary is bigger than mine,"Steve mumbled
I looked back at Billy, he sighed looking down.
"Can you maybe, try to knock this cup over? Like you did with the paint?"I backed up, looking at the plastic cup on the counter.
"I can try,"he stared at the cup, nothing, "I can't focus when you guys are staring at me."
We all turned, I looked in the mirror on the wall, watching the cup slowly scoot on the counter before falling to the floor
I turned around my eyes dropping down to the cup.
"What the hell,"Billy yelled
"You were right,"Nancy's eyes were wide
"What?"Jonathan and Steve asked
"It's a long story,"
♡♡♡♡
"Oh my god,"Jonathan coveted his mouth
"Yeah,"I nodded, pressing my lips together
"Holy shit,"Steve ran his hands through his hair.
"You never told me all that,"Billy stared at me.
"The only person I ever told was Nancy, and I didn't tell her till three days ago."
Billy got up, wrapping his arms around me, lifting me into the air, I hid my face in his neck, tears pricking my eyes, I wrapped my arms around his waist for support.
I wasn't going to cry, until Billy started to sniffle, that's when the tears started rolling down my face.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that."he whispered, I pulled back looking at his face, that's when I realized everyone else was gone.
I looked around the room, trying to see where they went.
I furrowed my eyebrows when I felt, claws? Run down my head and back, I unwrapped my legs from Billy, not looking at him.
He didn't let go of me when I got on my feet, I looked up at him gasping.
"Miss me?"
I pushed the creature away from me, falling onto the couch, he inched towards me, holding his hand above my face.
My eyes flickered up, my back arching, "stop."
"I'm so glad you were dumb enough to bring Max back home. To me. Where he belongs."
"You won't touch my son."my voice was low, I stared into his cold eyes.
"I don't make promises I can't keep, Beatrice."he brought his other hand to my face, brushing his fingers against my cheek.
I flinched my face away from his touch, glaring up at him.
"I'll fucking kill you-"
"Bea! Beatrice!"Billy screamed, shaking my shoulders violently.
I opened my eyes, sitting up, I was laying back on the couch, same spot I was when I was, wherever I was, except it was Billy over me instead of Vecna.
"What happened?"Steve asked
I looked up at them all
"He's back."
"Who?"Jonathan asked
"Vecna,"
