Chapter 9

Its around 1 oclock and there's a knock on Sage's door and they open it revealing their Mom.

"Hey Kiddo, I was wondering if you'd like to have a mother child day?" Pepper says. She's wearing a light blue blouse and black dress pants.

"Sure!" Sage agrees. They are wearing a red, wool cardigian and ripped jeans.

The two head off, out of the tower and to a nail salon. they decide to get their nails painted professionally.

Pepper goes with a simple shimmery light pink gloss and Sage got diaginal rainbows on their nails. It took around an hour for it all to be done and dried. They head to a local café for lunch.

Sage orders a hazelnut ice coffee and Pepper gets her favourite, coffee with one milk and one sugar. They sit at a table in the corner of the cafe and enjoy their drinks.

"So, when is America coming back?" Pepper asks.

"Tomorrow, I can't wait. I miss her so much." Sage says excitedly, with a big smile.

"Oh good! Also, I'm going to have to leave in a couple days for 2 weeks for another bussiness trip. Your father will want to come with me but we'll have to convince him i'll be fine, okay?" Pepper explains. She's been so busy this summer. Always working and traveling.

"Okay, but question, why does Dad want to come so bad?" Sage asks. They weren't told about the incident when it happened. Tony and Pepper didn't want them to worry to much.

"Don't worry about it.." Pepper says nervously. She twiddles her thumbs, debating to tell her kid or not.

"Mom..." Sage qeustions.

"A couple of months ago I went on a bussiness trip to Canada and when I walked out of a company we were working with, someone on a roof top shot at me." Pepper explains. "I wasn't hurt thankfully, no one was but it really scared your father. The next two months he wouldn't let me go anywhere out of New York. Even now your father is so nervous with me traveling and that doesn't help with his anxiety. He felt so guilty because it was meant to hurt Iron Man."

Sage sits there flabergasted "Why have I never heard of this?!" Sage shrieks.

"We didn't want you to worry. Please don't bring it up with your father to much. I don't want him to worry anymore then he does. Also if you can try and distract him as much as you can when I'm gone."

'Yeah, of course. I guess thats why he sort of traps him self in his lab when your gone. I'll keep him out of the lab and away from the alcohol." Sage says. Tony had gotten better with his drinking when Sage was born. He never got clean but he dialled it done 50 percent.

"Thank you, Kiddo." Pepper says with a smile. She was especially proud of Tony, when she first started working for him he lived up to the title as a 'playboy'. He had a different girl over every second night. It instantly stopped when they started dating. When his drinking slowing down she just grew prouder.

They finish their drinks and head to a book store. Sage bought 4 gay books and then they headed home. Pepper heads to her and Tony's room and Sage heads to theirs.

When they get in their room theres a little package on the bed. They quickly open it and find a little peice of paper that reads "Happy coming out, love you always! -Clint". A massive smile spreads across their face. They quickly unwrap the rest of the gift and find a lesbian flag.

They quickly grab a couple bullatin board tacks and put the flag up on an empty part of the wall. They rush out of the room and down the hall to Clints room. It's beside Natasha's.

They quickly knock on the door and it opens to show a very tired Clint. His hair is messed up and his eyes are a little red from rubbing them. he's in a large metallica t-shirt and jogging pants on.

"Hey kid, you got my gift?" he asks tiredly.

"Yes! Thank you so much!" Sage says flying into Clints arms for a tight hug. "I love it so much!"

"Your welcome, I'm glad you like it!" Clint says hugging them back.

"One question, why do you look horrible right now?" sage laughs pulling away form the hug.

"Nat kept me up all night drinking and watching movies. I literally just woke up." Clint explains "I'm getting to old for this." He jokes quietly.

"Well get some water and I'll make you something to eat to repay you." Sage says and Clint nods walking together to the common room.

Sage whips up 3 grilled cheeses and and when Clint gives the taste approval they bring theirs and one for Tony down to his lab.

They put in the code and head in. Tony spings in his chair and faces his kid "Hey kid!" He's wearing a usual tight AC/DC shirt and jogging pants. He has an almost empty glass of golden whiskey.

"I brought you some lunch." Sage says handing him the plate.

"Thanks. I compeletly forgot to eat." He laughs.

They eat together talking about what Tony has been working on lately, before Tony goes up to his room to talk to Pepper and Sage heads to the theatre room with Bruce to watch a movie after practically dragging him out of the lab.

So when I first started writing this I only planned 7 more chapter after this one, but people seem to be really enjoying this story. So should i add more? It's up to you.
