So I realized that the previous chapter was very confusing to all of you.
So, the part of the car accident is in the future- 3 years 7 months ahead of the cook-off.
The cook-off is in the past when compared with the accident.
I could not mention it in the start of it then i would loose the element of suspense. Super sorry for the confusion.
