yeonjun

yeonjun wasn't quite sure how to feel about everything that was going on with his best friend and his little sister. but when doyeon stormed up to him, anger and hurt the only things visible in her eyes, he knew he had to be there for her.

"your best friend is a jerk." she said. she looked strong when she began, but her voice cracked on the last word.

"what'd he do?" he asked. but he could guess.

"he said he didn't want anything to do with me anymore. said he didn't like how dependent i was on taehyun. dependent, my ass! just because i like someone doesn't mean that i need them." she huffed.

yeonjun guessed something like that happened.

when soobin gets hurt, he gets defensive and tries to shut everyone out of his life. he was worried that soobin would try to shut him out next.

it was only natural: first doyeon, then her brother.

if there was one thing soobin hated more than rejection and needy girlfriends, it was actually having to feel something that he didn't want to.

he liked being in control.

yeonjun had known him for years. practically his whole life.

he had never seen him be so out of control for a girl until recently. and with yeonjun's sister nonetheless.

"i'm sorry, doy-"

"you shouldn't have to apologise for him! i just wanted you to know that he's acting weird. he's not the same." she argued.

"doyeon... that's soobin. you know how he is." he reasoned.

"not to me. never to me." she said softly. her eyes filled with tears, and she shook her head in disbelief.

yeonjun didn't know what to say to that. he just enveloped his baby sister in his arms and held her as she cried. he knew she hated crying in front of anyone, so the tears she shed for soobin in the middle of the school shocked him.

he knew what she needed.

"let's go get food somewhere and binge watch some shows on netflix." he offered.

"i have a quiz today in pre-cal." she said, but it didn't sound sincere.

"you can make it up."

those words seemed to convince her quickly because she nodded and headed toward the back doors. yeonjun knew doyeon wasn't a perfect little teacher's pet, but she generally liked following rules in school. she had big dreams and had no reservations about doing whatever it takes to accomplish them.

this was really getting to her.

yeonjun knew he shouldn't be skipping because his coach would probably find out, but his family, doyeon, came first.

they grabbed chick fil a for lunch and ran into the store to get more ice cream for them to eat while they watched some of their favourite shows.

but when they got back in the car from the store and yeonjun began to put the car in reverse to back out of his parking spot, doyeon broke down.

her body shook with the intensity of her sobs.

in his shock, he didn't move. when he finally fully understood what was going on, he grabbed her hand and held it tightly, ushering her head to his shoulder.

"he doesn't care anymore. he told me he would listen, and he told me that he would be there for me. and now all of a sudden he cant even look at me." she explained, not crying anymore but with sniffles interrupting her words.
