doyeon
doyeon had spent the last week trying to get soobin to even go near her, but he never did.
it was now a month into school, and she was beginning to get crazy busy with homecoming and soccer practice and her new boyfriend. so even though she shouldn't have the time to even think about soobin, he was all she could think about.
during practice that wednesday, doyeon's mind was far from the scrimmage they played to prepare for their game next week.
"kim! doyeon!" her coach called annoyed. doyeon knew that meant that it wasn't the first time her coach called her name. she turned to her.
"you're in!" she told her, eyebrows raised in disappointment and frustration.
"yes, coach. sorry, coach." she said, running in to replace one of her teammates.
she couldn't focus on the ball or the game, her mind drifting thinking about soobin's stupid grin he always sported around her and the sparkle in his dark black eyes that drove her crazy.
"kim! pay attention!" she heard someone call. but she couldn't.
all she could think about was his messy black hair and the fact that he had been avoiding her for so long now. she knew she shouldn't be thinking about some other guy when her own boyfriend wasn't anywhere in her brain, but she couldn't stop.
"that's it! you're out, doyeon!" her coach called. doyeon ran out of the game frustrated with herself.
she stayed out the rest of practice. when it was over and after her coach gave her a lecture about focus and drive, doyeon walked over to the football field to watch the boys practice.
they were at a water break right now, and doyeon took the opportunity to watch how soobin interacted with everybody.
the light was definitely out of his eyes and the smile he presented was fake, but he was still in his element. football had always been his place to be himself, and doyeon loved that about him. she walked over to the bleachers and sat down with her eyes still on her brother's best friend.
it seemed that soobin had the same problem as her that day. he couldn't catch the ball or keep it if he did originally catch it. he had to do a lot of conditioning while everyone else took a knee, and the coach gave him a lashing after everyone else left.
doyeon caught up to him before he could leave school.
"soob!" she said before she could think about what name to use.
he turned and caught her eye. her hormones were out of control when she saw his sweaty hair and dark eyes that she had always found attractive.
"yeon?" he asked, a light finding its way into his eyes.
"hey." she said softly, suddenly shy.
"hey, pretty girl." he said confidently. he seemed to instantly regret his words, but doyeon was so exhilarated that he greeted her normally.
"where've you been?" she asked sweetly and innocently. she saw his eyes dilate and his cute little smile work its way onto his face.
"missed me, sweetheart?" he asked with a smirk.
"just a little." she admitted, smirking herself.
"well i've missed you too." he said seriously. he seemed to always be flirty, but at that moment he just sounded sad.
"then maybe you should talk to me again." she pleaded.
"i wish i could, yeon." he admitted, confusing her to no end.
