yeonjun
every time doyeon and soobin were in the same room, yeonjun tensed and prepared for wither a fight or one of them to stare at the other with disgustingly obvious show of want.
but it never really happened.
life continued as normal as the weeks flew by, and as september faded into a cool october, yeonjun couldn't help but enjoy the sense of strange normalcy returning.
his brother, eunwoo, was knee deep in the search for a job and an apartment.
his sister was the star of the show at school, catching the eye of every student with her bright smile and the way she had the quarterback practically on his knees bowing before her.
his father worked hard during the day and still forced them to have family dinner every school night.
his best friend was hopping from girl to girl as he won over the female population of their school with his charm and bad boy appeal.
and yeonjun himself was trying to balance his social life, football, grades, and college applications that were beginning to take over his life.
the college essay he had to write on his mind, he walked down the hallway with his eyes scanning the crowds.
he always seemed to be searching for someone.
he didn't know who until he saw her pressed up against her locker by familiar head of dark hair. he knew it would happen again eventually. soobin got everyone and anyone.
yeonjun knew soobin was trying to find a way to get doyeon out of his head, but as he watched jennie Levine's shirt ride up her torso because of the hand groping her waist, he couldn't make himself feel bad for him.
he walked over there with a brave face and propped himself up next to them.
"yo, soobin." he said.
soobin immediately stopped the assault on Jennie's lips and turned toward his best friend. yeonjun recognised the light guilt in his eyes, but he chose to ignore it.
when yeonjun risked a look at jennie, he felt his whole body tense.
her hair was a wreck and her lips swollen, but the look in her eyes was one of pain and disappointment.
she deserved so much better.
"i need to talk to you." he continued.
soobin nodded quickly.
"i'll call you." he said to jennie. then she walked away without a glance back.
"what's up?" he asked.
yeonjun noticed the constant look of a mix of hope and pain that had been in his eyes ever since he admitted to him that he loved doyeon. right now, his held hope. he hoped that whatever yeonjun had to talk to him about was about doyeon. yeonjun knew this because he knew soobin like the back of his hand.
he would be disappointed.
"my dad's cooking dinner tonight. he wants you to come over. he said he'll make your favourite."
"kimchi fried rice!" soobin yelled excitedly, his loud voice causing many to turn their heads.
yeonjun nodded with a small smile on his face.
"hell yeah i'll be there." soobin said with a laugh.
his face lit up in a way that it hadn't in a while.
yeonjun hated to be the reason that went away.
"oh, and, uh, just so you know, doyeon's got plans tonight, so she won't be there." yeonjun admitted to his best friend.
