"Milly! Wait!" Noelle called out from down the street to Namil, causing him to start speed walking. "Ugh, what's his problem?" She said to herself, starting to jog to catch up with him. "Hey, what's wrong?" She said now walking beside him. "What you mean?" He said.

"You know what I mean, you've been hella distant lately and won't talk to me about anything." She explained. "I talk to you about everything on my mind." He said, trying to give her the hint that he didn't feel like being bothered.

She could tell by his body language, but she simoly didn't care.

"No you haven't and you know it." She said, pinching his arm. "Aight bruh chill." He said, shrugging her hand off of him. Her face fell blank "Did I do something?" She asked him, hoping he'd finally let out whatever he'd been holding back.

"Noelle c'mon bruh give me a break, this clingy shit gotta stop we not even together." He said. She furrowed her eyebrows "I'm being clingy because I'm trying to see what's wrong with you?" She said, crossing her arms.

"Just leave me alone aight? Damn." He said making her stop in her tracks, watching him walk ahead of her. She couldn't believe it. Her best friend of 6 years was all of a sudden a burden to him and she didn't even know what went wrong during the past two weeks.

Two weeks ago, Noelle was out of town due to a family emergency but she made sure to keep in touch with Namil while doing so via FaceTime and text. But near the end of the second week, he grew drier and drier and eventually stopped talking to her.

Since then, this was her first time talking to him again and he was still acting funny. They eventually arrived to school and stopped at their lockers, Noelle looking around the semi crowded hallway to find one of their friends before her eyes landed on Amiri.

She quickly made her way over to the tall boy and called his name to get his attention. "Oh wassup Noelle, I ain't seen you inna good minute." Amiri said as she hugged him. "I was in some family stuff but what happened to Namil while I was away?" She asked him, pulling away from the hug.

"He seem normal to me, why? What happened?" Amiri asked. "I dunno, I was texting him last week and he just started getting dry and I tried talking to him this morning and he was being all mean talking about I was clingy and shit." She said.

"Damn, yeah ion know what the problem could be if he only actin funny towards you, sorry bout that." He said. She frowned "Well thanks, Miri, I'll try to speak with him later." Noelle said before returning to her locker.

It was now lunch and Noelle was looking for Namil and their group of friends she always sat with until she saw someone sitting beside Namil, in her spot. "Who the hell?" She muttered to herself.

She got a closer look to see who it was and saw how touchy the two were being with each other. She slowly sat down in the empty seat beside their friend, Christian, or who they liked to call, Chris. "Is that his girlfriend?" Noelle whispered to him.

"Yeah, you ain't know?" He said. "This my first day back in like 2 weeks, no wonder he wasn't trying to talk to me." She mumbled the last part. "I don't know why he wouldn't tell you, ain't y'all like besties or some shit?" He said. "I mean I thought so, I guess he doesn't want me around anymore." She said, sadly.

Their last period of the day they shared together today so she finally got to sit by him to try to talk with him since they had assigned seats next to each other. She walked into the classroom, seeing Namil sitting in the seat beside her seat and distracted by his phone.

Once she hooked her bookbag on the back of her chair, he looked up at her. "You can't avoid me forever, Dakota." She said as she sat down and scooted up under the table. "Why didn't you wanna tell me you had a girlfriend?" She asked, looking at him.
