"Haven!" Jessica hit Haven making her quickly take her headphones off. "What?" She said sitting up. "Did you hear anything we said? When we get here don't be on that weird shit you be on when we around fine niggas, keep that shit in the car. Shit, I'm tryna fuck on Amiri tonight." Jessica said, fixing herself up in the rearview mirror.

Haven scoffed, curling back up in her seat and putting her headphones back on. Haven was the only outcast in their friend group and god did she hate it. She only hung around them to get a thrill in her life and also because she had no other friends and just so happened to know them for years anyway.

She really didn't want to go to this friendsgiving since she knew a lot of people she didn't like was going to be there. But, she mustered up the confidence and energy to pack her bags and was really only going because she got to make cupcakes and bring them for other people to try.

The other girls brought store bought foods which Haven found dumb because it defeated the purpose of a friendsgiving dinner. Nevertheless, she was really ready to get this over with considering her worst ex, Namil, would be attending the event as well since it was being thrown by one of his closest friends.

Eventually, the house came into view and the other 3 girls grew giddy as Dina hurried and parked the car and got out, Jessica grabbing her duffle bag and running out the car, Miranda doing the same.

Great, now Haven didn't have any help with getting these cupcakes out the car. Though when she was about to start struggling, she was startled when the car door opened, Namil on the other side. Jesus fucking Christ. "You need help?" He asked.

"No Namil, there's nothing else in this car that you had to come back in here and get." She said, eventually sliding past him out the car with her tower of cupcakes she brought. When she walked in the house, the girls had already dispersed out to their soon-to-be-lovers and other girls they were friends with.

She sat her cupcakes down in the kitchen with everyone else's foods and turned around to retrieve her own duffle from the car but only to find Namil carrying it in.

"I got it." She said, trying to get the bag from him but only for him to push her away. "You about to piss me the fuck off, give me my bag bro." She snatched the bag from his hands, Namil sucking his teeth at the stubborn girl.

Though the girl was quiet for the most part, she sure did make a scene when she was upset so he left it alone. After finding a room to leave her belongings in, she returned back downstairs, looking for someone she was at least a little cool with.

Her eyes then landed on the lightskin boy on the couch, off to himself as he scrolled on his phone. Chase. She sure as hell didn't know how to approach people because it had been a while since she last seen him and held a full on conversation with him, but she had no other choice if she wanted to talk to him.

She plopped down beside him, getting a better look at him. "Hi Chase, I haven't seen you in forever." Haven said. "Oh wassup, V, how you been?" Chase said, sitting up. Chase always took a liking to Haven when he first seen her, but when he first heard about Namil talking about her, he knew he was too late.

See, Chase had been plotting on Haven for a month before then but he never told anyone, first mistake, but he never made a move because he was too nervous to ask her. Even though she was visibly 10x more awkward than he was.

But to see her with Namil made his stomach churn—knowing he could've been in his spot. They didn't even look right together! They contrasted one another so poorly it frustrated Chase so badly. Then everyone wondered why he was so disgusted with Namil when they broke up and Namil was talking down on her.
