Athena was looking around at the books in the library before her attention was drawn to a taller lightskin boy with curly hair, who also came to look at the same books she was looking for. She grew hot, moving over some so he could look through the ones she already skimmed through.
"Hey, are you single?" She finally spoke. Athena was shy and soft spoken but when she really wanted something, she made it known. "Yeah, I'm single. Wassup?" he said, pulling his headphones around his neck as he watched her pull out her phone.
"Do you have an Instagram?" She asked, opening Instagram. "Yeah, what's your name?" He asked her, glancing up at her before typing in his @ in the search bar. "Athena." She said. "Pretty ass name, I'm Namil so you can do what you want with that." He said, knowing people who gave him so many nicknames from it.
"So you from here? I don't think i've seen you around before." He said. "Mhm, I live right behind Odyssey and go there." She said, seeing his face light up. "Yooooo I go there too, what grade you in?" He asked as he made her follow him on Instagram.
"11th, you?" She asked making him nod. "Me too, but aye ima see you around, I gotta go. Text me." He said making her nod as they said their goodbyes. Athena didn't know how she never seen the boy around before but she was glad that she found him today.

After the library, she decided to go through his page and was surprised by his follower count, seeing the name "slump6s" at the top of his page. "Oooh, he's a rapper." She whispered to herself as she scrolled through his page, cheesing at the many cute pictures of him on there.
She was already fangirling and just as she was about to text him, he texted her.

It had been 7 months since then and the two had been dating for 6 months and she was hanging out with him and his friends who were surprisingly actually funny and weren't weird like the other boys here who were predominantly white anyway so that was expected.
Right now, the group were all hanging out at Athena's house since she had the biggest room, Namil sitting in between her propped up legs on his back, Wesley in her reading nook and Demar in her hammock after all that time of trying to get into it.
"Aye y'all niggas not hungry? shit. Got us in his bitch starvin." Namil finally said making the boys agree. She scoffed and sat up "Now y'all know this y'all first time mentioning y'all hungry, what y'all want? it's getting late so hurry up." She said.
"Can't you cook? hook us up like how you be bringing us meals at lunch." Wesley said. "Alright, let me go see what I have." She said, Namil getting up so she could get up and made her way to the kitchen, the trio following behind her like lost puppies.
"Why you always twist so hard when you walk?" Namil said making her shrug. "It's how I walk nigga." She said, entering the kitchen and opening the freezer. "What y'all in the mood for?" She asked. "Teriyaki chicken." Demar said almost immediately. "Y'all cool with that?" She asked, looking at the other two for confirmation.
"I'm cool wit it." Wesley said, Namil nodding as well. She took the chicken out of the freezer and the got the rice out the pantry. "Y'all can go in the living room, you don't have to sit over my shoulder and watch me cook." Athena chuckled.
They were so used to following each other around and just sitting and doing nothing that they didn't know they were actually in the way of all the stuff she needed. Wesley and Demar went to the couch while Namil stayed to bother her,
He took in her attire even though it was just a chill fit, seeing she was wearing a pair of hot pink pajama pants with light pink stars on them, a spaghetti top shirt and a pink emotional therapy bear beanie.
"Man you said you was gone tell me where you got the hat from, now if I gotta rob you for it then I will." He said making her snicker. "I forgot, remind me when I'm done cooking. Taste this." She said.
She then reached over to get a spoon from the drawer, scooping up some of the teriyaki sauce and blowing it a couple times before feeding him. "You made that shit perfect." He said, kissing her on her lips making her smile.
"Bruh stop bein all lovey dovey in that damn kitchen and hurry up." Wesley said making Namil suck his teeth, going in the living room to play fight with him. She shook her head at them as she started on the chicken, chopping it up and seasoning it and cooking it on the stove since everyone liked it better not fried.

After dinner, Wesley and Demar went home since they'd been there almost all day anyways, leaving Athena and Namil alone together. She locked the door back after watching the two leave out the neighborhood, returning back to her room where she found Namil fast asleep in her bed.
She didn't even want to bother him to move over because he was in her spot but instead she took a picture of him before crawling into bed with him. "So you're sleeping over? Perfect." She said, cupping his face with her hand to squish both his cheeks before kissing his lips before giggling at how his eyebrows scrunched up in annoyance in his sleep.
"C'monnn I know you're not even sleepy for real like that." She groaned, wanting him to wake up because she was bored now. He instead pulled her to him, cuddling with her like a teddy bear. She rolled her eyes, kissing him one more time but on his forehead before trying to go to sleep with him.
