"i saw him."-
october, 1984
"IT'S LIKE.. it's like i feel what the shadow monster's feeling." will stuttered, as he explained to y/n and mike. "see what he's seeing."
"like in the upside down?" y/n asked.
will slowly nodded his head. "some of him is there. but some of him is here, too."
"here, like, in this house?" mike asked in confusion.
"in this house, and.." will paused for a moment, and started to cry a little. "in me."
mike sat down on the bed, next to will, while y/n sat on the other side of will.
"it's like.. it's like he reaching into hawkins more and more." will explained. "and the more he spreads, the more connected to him i feel."
"and the more you see these now-memories." y/n finishes will sentence.
"at first i just felt it in the back of my head. i didn't even really know it was there. it's like when you have a dream, and you can't remember it unless you think really hard. it was like that." will continued. "now i remember. i remember all the time."
it pained y/n to see will like this, he was shaking, and he was hurting, she knew it, he was crying, and just shaking a lot.
"maybe.. maybe that's good." mike tells will.
"good?" will asked.
"just think about it, will." mike explains. "you're like a spy now. a superspy. spying on the shadow monster. if you know what's he's seeing and feeling... maybe that's how we can stop him. maybe all of this is happening for a reason."
"you really think so?" will turned to mike.
"yeah. yeah, i really do." mike replied to the boy.
y/n looked down at his drawings of will's visions on the ground.
"let's just hope he doesn't find out." y/n hoped.
"he won't." mike assured, as y/n just sighed.

"mom." will called, but joyce seemed distracted. "mom?"
"yeah?" joyce replied.
"i saw him." will announced.
"you saw who, baby?" joyce asks.
"hopper." will replies. "i think he's in trouble. i think he's going to die."
