"No one expects
an angel to set
the world on fire."

In the green twilight of his common room, Edmund paced impatiently the next day, waiting for a sign of life from Snape. Yes, perhaps in the best case he would not need his own plan at all.

"Hey Ed!" shouted Draco suddenly, coming towards him with a white box, including his two appendages Gregory and Vincent, grinning broadly.

"Hey."

"Where have you been for the last two days?" asked Draco frowning, proudly holding the box up while his pointed face was adorned with a cocky expression. "I wanted to show you something."

Edmund merely shrugged. He didn't owe his cousin an account, after all. Curious, he squinted at what Draco was carrying in his hands. "What did you want to show me?"

In reply, he grinned maliciously and pulled from the box a large pin with bright red letters on it. He pressed once with his slender finger on the badge, which immediately turned poison green:

POTTER STINKS.

Edmund grinned, apparently Draco had once used his head for something useful. "I knew you'd like them," Draco said triumphantly, thrusting the badge into his hand. Edmund looked at it for a moment and then put it in his pocket, for he was not yet sure whether he would actually wear it. But it was certainly good for provoking a few Gryffindors.

He hadn't realised that Draco had opened his mouth again until he suddenly heard the word Black. "What?"

"Black's still sulking in the hospital wing," he laughed. "She's probably embarrassed. It's almost as brilliant as Potter's fainting all those times with the Dementors."

Vincent and Gregory joined in with roaring laughter, but Edmund merely returned dryly, "Didn't you cry when that horse kicked you, Draco?"

His cousin's laughter died instantly and he had to punch his friends in the side to make them stop too. Draco's expression turned haughty as he jutted his chin. "Gregory mentioned you were in the hospital wing with Black."

"So?" asked Edmund, visibly annoyed, averting his eyes. "Snape ordered me to take her there."

"I know about yours and Blaise's bet, but come on, Black?" sneered Draco, not seeming to have been listening to him at all. "A worthless half-blood who acts like a pureblood and is friends with mudbloods and blood traitors to boot."
