Chapter 16

"Beau, is that you?" As he heard those words he looked up to see Ellie and Rick who looked at him with worry sketched on their faces.

"What are you two doing here?" "What are we doing here? The better question is what are you doing here?" Ellie and Rick rush towards him to comfort him as he looked pale and red from crying too much and his eye bags were visibly clear as it was seen that he didn't have a delightful sleep last night. "Dude, you look dreadful what happened?" Beau stayed silent at Rick's question as he did not want to discuss it. Rick and Ellie looked at each other for answers on how to cheer him up, then they heard a grumbling sound from Beau's stomach which made him blush. Ellie and Rick looked at each other in agreement that the first phase of their plan to cheer him up was giving him a hearty meal and since it was already lunchtime and assuming he didn't eat since breakfast, they quickly held him up in both arms and dragged him to the nearest restaurant that opens on this hour.

After fighting Beau's protest and trying to release himself as he was dragged somewhere from the two, they finally arrived at Trattoria la Portorosso the restaurant that they'll be dining in. As the small group was escorted to their table it was a comfortable silence but the restaurant was brimming with life as the music from a small phonograph was heard all over the small restaurant and the small clattering of utensils against the plates and the service door opening and closing at the same time, and also some small chatter amongst the small groups of people dining there it was quaint and homey at the same time. The group sat and ordered after a few minutes in their seat was pure silence, utter silence.

But as awkward and boring as that was Rick cuts the tension by asking about the assignment Mr. Deley assigned to them in Chem class which seemingly snapped Beau out of his miserable trance and asked him if he did it which he did not same as Ellie as she now remembered the assignment, luckily Beau had his school bag with him when he "ran away" and began to do their assignment which stretched to a talk about Tourney, R.O.A.R and what happened at school.

After a few minutes of talking and doing their homework, the food arrived which contained Trenette Al Pesto, Margarita pizza, and Panna Cotta with mixed berry sauce with bottomless iced tea. The food was scrumptious and divine and adding a bit of small talk amongst acquaintances it was a very enjoyable meal. As they packed and paid, they exited the restaurant and headed towards the nearest arcade and played games and won a lot of prizes. When Beau had the last few tokens he had, he saw a big blue bear which Ellie eyed for since they got there.

Beau motioned to the booth and tried his luck on the game which was a test of strength, he grabbed the hammer before him and swang it into the target before him, and the metal rod collided with the bell making him the winner of the game and got 2 prizes instead of one, where he got the big blue bear and a pair of plastic swords which Rick and Ellie gladly took and with a thank you.

The day was fun but it had to end as they walked towards the park again with the prizes they won together. "I know what you were both doing and it worked... thank you for cheering me up guys" "hey, don't worry about it we were glad to do it" the trio chuckled at Rick's answer and sat at the bench where they found him.

"Beau" Ellie called, "I know I asked before but why were you at the park? Did something bad happen?" Beau was quiet as if the question haunted him. He didn't know if he could even tell them or even have the heart to. He knows that answering it means that he's accepting his old self before the isle and before all of this... he would be accepting that he is what he was truly and always meant to be, which is being Adrien the lost prince of Auradon and it scared him.

He looked at both Rick and Ellie and with a deep breath and a lot amount of courage he told them.

"Last night... Mal and Evie came into my room and told me something big... at first, I couldn't believe it and I thought they were just joking around but it was true all of it and I panicked and ran into town not knowing where to go because I was scared and confused and I still am because-" he stopped as he choked on every word and his tears threaten to fall, "Hey, it's ok" Ellie reasoned" forget we asked any of it ok just tell us another time when your ready" "yea sorry for asking anyway we just wanted to see why you were upset" they both quickly said as they saw how disheveled and hurt he was on every word he was saying, it was almost like he was amidst of breaking. "Yea just tell us when you're ready" "No" he answered as he was wiping his tears bringing up his courage again as he needed to get these thoughts out of his chest before he chickens out. "It's ok I can take it... I just need to get this off my chest" he paused and breathed heavily as he was trying to collect his emotions before he burst out crying for the next thing he would say "Mal and Evie told me that my dad stole me from a family as a baby 10 years ago" "But Beau that doesn't make sense from what I heard the only baby missing 10 years ago was..." Ellie and Rick paused as they pieced together what their broken friend said and a shattering revelation dawned on them, "Beau... your not him are you?" Ellie asked carefully but nodded saying "yes your right... the baby he stole was me... I was the lost prince... I'm prince Adrien Beast"
