The night was young and bright as the crescent moon lighted the night sky with its veil of stars, and the paparazzi illuminated the pier as everybody including Mrs. Potts, and Mr. Chip boarded the boat where the cotillion will be held. Everyone was dressed to impress especially Evie as her handmade blue dress and accessories were a show stopper. After an interview and poses for the press, they boarded the S.S.Mermaid where Rick’s dad let the kingdom borrow for the cotillion night, and the party was now in full swing as music and food were distributed to the guest.
As Beau ate a shrimp Hors d'oeuvre he felt nervous for tonight not just because of concern about Mal not coming but how to tell his parents that their lost son was now in front of them. In his panic, he quickly swallowed his Hors d'oeuvre and ran to find Ben for another encouraging talk, but was stopped as he bumped into Ellie, “oh Beau there you are” she greeted and bowed to which he did rushingly, “hey El um… can we talk later, I need to find my brother” “oh um yes I understand but I was hoping to talk to you about the incident at the um…” she coughed for a moment and avoided her gaze as her face began to heat with embarrassment, “t-the incident at the chem lab” “A-actually I wanted to talk about that too” he said embarrassingly as it was the only thing he thought about these days minus telling his brother anyway. “Talk to you later then?” “y-yea um… e-excuse me” he rushingly said as he tried to walk off as his face became heated too cooly.
Unfortunately, he stopped as he heard the trumpets blow and Lumiere stood before them as he announced to them that a guest had arrived in his rich French accent, "ladies and gentlemen may I present to you the future lady Mal!" A little wave of relief overcame him as he heard Mal’s name, he looked into the staircase to see if it was true that she came and saw her beautiful gown which was embellished with their family colors of yellow, gold, and blue, the whole boat clapped as she entered as they were stunned at her beauty and mostly the dress which Evie ever flattering accepted the praises the crowd gave her. But after Mal spoke to his parents he decided to have a little talk with Mal and Evie to get over his nerves, “hey guys I need some help calming my nerves a bit” “what for it’s just a party Adrien?” Evie asked whisperingly, “well later in the evening when the part is halfway through um… Ben and I decided to tell our parents about me, and now I'm nervous about messing things up, I mean they are my real parents but why am I this nervous!”
Mal and Evie looked around to see if anybody was listening in and they were grateful that no one is except Jay and Carlos as they were near them and their dates weren’t, “Adrien just relax and let everything fold the way it's supposed to be and don’t worry about your parents knowing, they will love you, and by the end of the night after this whole thing ends you will walk out of that pier as one big family” “and from my experience having dinner with them from time to time, is that they are protective and loving when it comes to their family so take a deep breath and enjoy the party” Adrien gladly took both of their advice and hugged them in return; he breathed in out and relaxed and joined his friends for the evening.
After 5 minutes after Mal’s arrival, the trumpets roared again as Lumiere presented his older brother to the crowd, and let's just say that what happened after was pure shock and insanity as he saw presenting Uma as she came into sight to be his real lady of the court to which he wanted to refute but the music started as the dance began and everyone ever so confused joined in on the waltz. The Vk’s and their dates crowd around Mal as they were trying to comfort her as she cried in betrayal, “dude it thought your bro liked Mal?” Keanu asked, “yea me too” he replied as he too stared in utter shock and the guest around them was too, “erm guys… is it me or do you think this was too much of a coincidence?” Adrien thought about what Ellie said and it was true as a few hours ago he and Ben were talking about Mal and his deep love for her and now he decided to break up at the last minute without consulting anyone, not even his brother.
He looked at Ben and stared at him intently as he tried to find something wrong with him or remotely different. With his beastly brown eyes, he zoomed into his face and finally saw what he needed to see, his eyes, they were glowing and so did Uma’s necklace. “Rick, do you remember your parent’s story?” “uh yes, they tell me every holiday why’d you ask?” Adrien gathered his friends to the far end of the boat so that nobody can hear them and explained, “well I saw Ben’s eyes glowing faintly and Uma’s necklace” “wait now that you’ve said it I did see it glow for about a second and disappeared” to which everybody agreed to Li’s statement, then it hit Rick like a tidal wave as he remembered his parent’s story and about Ursula who turned into a human and bewitched his father to fall in love with her.
After Rick told the bit they agreed to tell Mal and the rest of the Vk’s about their discovery to which they refused and began to leave, but Jane much like her mother fixes everything as she told Lumiere to unveil the gift Ben made for Mal to which he announced. ‘I hope this works’ she thought as the curtain was dropped on his gift, everyone was in awe, even Ben who forgot that he was dancing with Uma a while back as it was beautiful and mesmerizing, but most of all it revealed what Mal truly is which was a beautiful and loving human being. “Wow, your brother has very good taste when it comes to stained glass and detail.”
Uma was furious as her plan was beginning to crumble as she ordered to cover it up to which Lumiere refused, so she initiated plan B, “why don’t you tell everybody the gift you have for me Ben?” she ordered as she touched her necklace, Adam tried to reason with him but refused to listen as he screamed at him to which everyone was at shock as this never happened in front of the whole court or even the royal families and honored guests of his.
“As to my gift to her, I will be bringing down the barrier once and for all” everyone was beginning to be in a frenzy as Ben announced his present to Uma as they were scared of what would happen to them once the barrier will be brought down.
The Vk’s immediately thought of what Adrien told them and saw in Ben’s eyes as he was fighting the fair godmother what he had been seeing, Ben’s glowing eyes, and how Uma was touching her shell necklace, Adrien was right they thought, and immediately planned on how to break his curse, but Mal stopped them and told them that she knows what must be done as she looked at the stained glass window he made for her again.
“Ben” she called out as she made her way in front of him, and Uma knows what happened as he looked at Adrien who looked at her with a smug smile ‘you brat!’ she thought as her plan was already falling apart. She tried to stop Mal from talking sense to him but failed as she confessed her love for him once more and kissed him on his lips which worked as his eyes were not glowing anymore which means that Uma was now powerless over him. “Mal?” he called out with a smile which resulted in another kiss by the couple.
Feeling defeated and afraid to get caught he rushed towards the edge of the boat and was about to jump off when all of them rushed in to stop her. Mal tried to convince her that she wasn’t really what she thought to be to which Adrien joined in too but failed as she jumped in anyway and transformed into a giant octopus lady just like her mother that made the deck into a pool of water. Everyone screamed in a panic except for the Vk’s and some Auradon kids as they were in a state of shock.
Suddenly Mal’s eyes glowed and a pristine green emerald color which everybody saw, “Mal?” he walked slowly toward her to see if there was something wrong but stopped as a puff of smoke surrounded her only to reveal that she wasn’t there, instead she was replaced by a vicious dragon, to which if Maleficent were to not be turned into a lizard she would have had tears of joy flowing towards her cheek saying “that’s my baby!”
“COME ON MAL, LET’S FINISH THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL!” she screeched and the battle began as both of them attacked and invaded each other while the others were left to spectate this battle. As Mal breathed fire into Uma while she attacked her with her tentacles and the water she laid under.
