Chapter 17

Coronation day was here and the chapel was packed with royals, invited and distinguished guests who have traveled the world to witness this historic moment that could change history altogether.

Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Adrien headed up to the top of the chapel with the other students and choir members at the back. Adrien stared at the bottom where his brother would be crowned in front of all the royal community. He wondered what would it like to be there, would he be nervous, would he be thrilled, or a little bit of both, but he didn't focus on the what if's right now as the only emotion he was feeling right now was pride as he beamed proudly at his brother, from now being king of Auradon even though he hasn't been crowned yet, but still proud as he waited for the chapel doors to open and reveal him in all of his newly royal statures.

Meanwhile, Mal was now pulled outside of the cathedral with Ben at hand as she knows that Ben broke her curse but all of his love and affection for her was real which was simply a confession now. As they approached the chapel doors with the roaring crowd and reporters behind them, the old king and queen were now in front of them which they bowed. "About the other day I just-" she attempted to apologize but was cut off by the king, "I told Ben that this wasn't going to be easy" "you also taught me that a king has to believe in himself, even when it isn't easy," he said which the king asked if he did but was earned by a hit on the side by his wife.

The queen approached him and cupped his cheek and stared at him with pride and tears, she held both his son's hands, and with her soft motherly voice, she told him that she was proud of him and his brother would be too. "Keep listening to your heart my son" she whispered, she kissed his son's cheek before grabbing her husband's arm and making their way inside while Mal was escorted inside with a servant guiding her through the holy halls.

As the choir began to sing which were thank maleficent were good, the chatter died down as everybody looked towards the chapel gates to reveal Ben in all of his grandeur as he walked to the altar in pure confidence and power, to which the royals deemed perfect and bowed as walked past them as a sign of their respect, and as he walked passed Mal he gave her the sweetest and joyful smile he could have given her.

As the ceremony began as the Fairy Godmother entered the altar, breaths were hitched with anticipation and the crown was set on the new king's head, and finally, as she knighted him with his wand and his vows to his new kingdom were made, he rose from his position and faced his people, and the royals and guests around him as the Fairy Godmother proclaimed him and to his people. "Fellow Auradonians, may I now introduce to you your new king, King Ben Florean Beast!"As erupted cheers and claps were heard around the chapel and everything was in pure bliss.

That was until somebody stole the wand out of the Fairy Godmother's hand and misfire on one of the stained glass windows that was directed towards the Isle of the Lost unannounced to them that the beam of light broke the barrier. Everybody was flabbergasted as they saw the culprit which was Jane the Fairy Godmother's daughter who was seen struggling on handling her own mother's wand. "Child, what are you doing?!" "if you're not going to make me pretty then I'll do it yourself" Mal launched herself to Jane trying to get the wand before things had gone out of hand to which she was successful. As the wand was now in her hands she pointed at all of them commanding them even Ben to stay back, and everyone backed away from her in fear while Audrey screamed: "I told you so!" but backed away as Mal pointed the wand at her.

The doors of the inner chapel opened to reveal the rest of the D4 and Beau/Adrien behind them as Carlos told her that it was time and that they have to go, meanwhile Adrien who was still acting as Beau looked at Ben telling him to stop her as he wanted to stay with the VK's as even though they did lie to him all his life, but he still considers the family and the bridge to his new life permanently in Auradon. "You really want to do this" "we have no choice, Ben! Our parents-" Mal explained but was cut off by Ben as he looked at her eyes in plead, "your parents made your choice, now you make yours"
