Inari's POV
A few Days Later~~~
"Hey, Nanami, entertain us with a hilarious anecdote!" Gojo chirped, breaking the monotony of our wait in the school building's lobby, where we loitered until Itadori arrives.
"Please, for the once in your life, shut up!!" I said annoyed and Gojo's eyes (might-have) lit up with mischief.
"Oh, I've got just the thing! How about we film ourselves tossing around leftover rice balls and debating the finer points of separation of church and state? Guaranteed viral material, don't you think?"
I felt a vein throb on my temple at the absurdity of the suggestion. "Feel free to embark on that journey solo," I retorted, irritation lacing my tone. "And kindly relocate your bony appendages elsewhere."
Perched on the sofa beside Nanami, I found myself the unwilling recipient of Gojo's long limbs as he sprawled across from us.
With no table to separate us, his legs found an unwelcome resting place on my lap.
"Time for a game! Let's play the 'Why We Love Gojo Satoru' drinking edition! Pour out all the adoration you can muster!" Gojo's enthusiasm was infectious, but I couldn't bring myself to participate.
I made a feeble attempt to dislodge Gojo's feet, only to find my efforts futile against the insurmountable space between us and from the invisible barrier of his Infinity technique.
"Do keep up that idiocy," Nanami deadpanned. "Itadori-kun could certainly use a dose of your brand of lunacy right about now."
"That wasn't quite the 'tough' mission I had in mind," Gojo sighed, and I couldn't help but scoff in agreement.
"I'm sorry for pushing you into something you weren't comfortable with," he apologized, and my scoff echoed once more.
"It's... fine. I don't regret what I did..." I replied, my fingers idly tracing the lines of his legs as he released his Infinity technique.
"Nanami, does Yuji know about the finger in Yoshino's?" Gojo interjected. "I haven't informed him. I suspect he'd shoulder unnecessary guilt," Nanami responded.
"I kept it from him too," I added.
"That's precisely why you were the ideal candidate for the task. And what about the finger?" Gojo pressed cheerfully.
"I turned it in, as expected," Nanami confirmed. "Had you been given it, you'd likely have made Yuji ingest it," I sighed, earning a disapproving click of Gojo's tongue.
"But is it truly safe to bring him back? Once they discover he's alive, won't the higher-ups target him again?" Nanami voiced his concerns, to which I offered a reassuring smile.
"He'll be alright."
"Even if they do come after him, Yuji can handle it now. You're aware of that more than anyone, aren't you?" Gojo interjected smugly, silencing us all momentarily.
Lost in contemplation, I gazed out into the courtyard before breaking the peaceful silence. "Satoru... there's something I need to discuss with you."
"Go on, I'm all ears," Gojo replied, his attention fully focused on me and I glanced over at Nanami
"If you want a moment alone with Satoru, I'll---"Nanami started suggesting, gracefully folded the newspaper he had been engrossed in, indicating his willingness to give us some privacy.
"No, it's fine, go ahead. I trust him," Gojo interjected, gesturing me to proceed. "Will you believe me if I tell you I encountered Geto Suguru?" I queried.
