Forever And Ever - Steven Conklin

Flashback

One of Cameron's favorite memories at Cousin's was July fourth.The day her and Steven had shared their first kiss together.The fishers were hosting a pool party, which mainly consisted of Cameron's, Conrad's, and Jeremiah's friends from school, along with the Conklin's.

Cameron sat at the edge of the pool with her friends Amethyst and Peter, with her feet dipped in. As soon as Cameron stepped out of the house Steven's eyes were glued to her.He watched as Cameron talked and laughed putting her hand on Peter's shoulder in the process. And it made him mad his jaw clenched and his hand balled into fist as he looked at the two's interaction.

Jeremiah was the only one who noticed and swam over to his friend, "You should tell her before someone else comes along" he said. Steven's eyes widened as he looked back and forth between Jeremiah and Cameron.

"What, ew no gross" he said trying to play off the idea of him liking the girl "I do not like Cameron, she's like my sister" he said sticking out his tongue in distaste.

Jeremiah laughed at the boy's horrible lying skills "You're a horrible liar.And I hope you don't think of her as a sister cause that would make it really weird when you have wet dreams of her.Which is totally disgusting dude."

"I-i do not have wet dreams of her jere. And I don't like her okay" Steven whispered back in hush tone looking back at Cameron who gave him a smile that practically made him melt

"Yeah right, you practically just came just now from her just smiling  at you.Your cheeks went red and you subconsciously started smiling when you looked in her direction.Face it dude your whipped" Jeremiah laughed

Steven looked down at the water and shook his head "Okay maybe I do like her but.... She's never gonna like me back.It seems like Peter's got all her attention" he mumbled, jealousy was clear in his voice

"Well he does have a crush on her, but hey I got something up my sleeve that could help you " jeremiah winked at Steven "But for now just relax Stevie"

When the sky got darker the group of kids made their way into the basement, chatting about various subjects. Cameron said they should all watch a movie but Jeremiah said he had an even better idea, "We should play spin the bottle"

Steven's eyes darted over to the blond headed boy who just smirked at him.Steven internally groaned, he was excited to get the chance to possibly kiss Cameron, but then he realized he might have to see Cameron kiss someone else.And that was something he truly couldn't sit and watch.

Jeremiah started first spinning the bottle and landing it on Amethyst. The girl let out a small ground before leaning in and giving Jeremiah a small peck on the lips making everyone laugh.

"Okay okay" Amethyst said wiping her lips "Peter your next" she pointed to the boy sitting next to Cameron.Peter shrugged his shoulders before spinning the bottle, Steven watched closely as the bottle slowly came to a stop and landed on Cameron.His cameron. Steven's heart dropped as he made eye contact with Jeremiah who mouthed the words sorry to him.

Peter started to lean in and Cameron followed in suit, their lips were about to touch when Steven suddenly popped up from the ground and made his way upstairs.Everyone turned their attention to the door as it slammed shut.

Conrad looked at Jeremiah and Cameron in confusion "What's wrong with him?".Jeremiah shrugged with a gleam in his eyes while Cameron got up from her spot on the floor, "I don't know,I'll go check".

When Cameron got upstairs she called out Stevens name, but received no response.She was about to go check upstairs when she saw a figure by the pool.Cameron furrowed her eyebrows before making her way outside and sitting down gently next to Steven.

"Are you okay Steve?" she said softly

"Im fine" he responded bluntly making her more confused.Steven was always talkative.

"Are you sure?" she tried again

"God Cameron I said I'm fine, why don't you just go back to your boyfriend!" he snapped

At this Cameron scoffed "You don't have to be such an asshole Steven. And are you seriously mad that I'm spending time with Peter instead of you, I'm allowed to have other friends.You talk to girls all the time"

Steven sharply removed his gaze from the sky and looked towards her face, fireworks went off in the distance. "I'm pretty sure friends don't try to kiss each other. And yeah I talk to girls but nothing ever happens because I like you.Hell you know I like you and I know you like me.It's like some kind of unspoken thing we have. And then you go and try to kiss some other guy!" he whispered yelled

Cameron let out a sigh "Steven it was a game.And you can't tell me who I can and can't kiss, we aren't together. And yeah I like you... a lot actually, but i'm not gonna sit here and wait for something to happen betweens us.That's not fair to me or you-" she rambled before she was suddenly cut off

Steven wasn't really listening to Cameron as she went on and on.He was staring at her face and how the lights from the fireworks in the distance reflected on it.He thought she looked absolutely beautiful and before he knew what he was doing he pressed his lips against hers.

She automatically went quiet at his action and froze up.When Steven realized she wasn't kissing back he immediately pulled back and started mumbling a series of apologies.

"I-i'm so sorry...I don't know why I did that -" he started but now it was his turn to be interrupted.Cameron leaned in and softly kissed his lip making the boy melt. She could feel a smile on his lips as they kissed, making her smile as well.

When they pulled away Steven gawked at her with wide eyes "Wow" he mumbled in a daze "I've been waiting to do that since I was ten" he spoke making the girl giggle

"Me too Steve, me too"
