When You Make Him Jealous

you and Tanjiro were walking to the butterfly mansion, talking about missions and other random things that entertained the both of you.

the sun had set a long time ago, so now you were walking with the moonlight to light the ground.

"Y/n! Tanjiro!" You turned just in time for Inosuke to barrel into you, knocking you to the ground in a hug.

"Inosuke! hi!" you exclaimed, wrapping your arms around him to return the hug.

Tanjiro's eyes narrowed. he saw how his friend was damn near straddling you and hugging you close. but only he was supposed to do that.

"how was your mission?"

"haha! i killed the demon and saved three people!"

"good job!" you scratched his head affectionately, causing him to grin and blush.

Tanjiro got even more pissed. now he was blushing? what's next, you gonna kiss him or something?

"here, come with me, i'll make you something to eat." you gently pushed Inosuke off of you and got up, taking his hand to continue walking to the butterfly estate.

Tanjiro followed grumpily, arms crossed where the two of you couldn't see.

you got to the mansion and stepped onto the engawa, sliding the door open to be greeted by the dim candlelight.

"i think the girls are asleep." you whispered.

"huh? what's that mean?" Inosuke picked his ear, wiggling his finger to try and relieve... whatever was going on there.

"uh... let's go to my house. my sister isn't home."

the two of you turned around to see that Tanjiro was glaring.

"whoa, what happened, Tanj?" you asked worriedly.

"yeah, you looked happy earlier." Inosuke commented.

"nothing." he grumbled. Tanjiro turned around and walked away.

you glanced at Inosuke and shrugged.

you followed Tanjiro, eventually taking the lead in walking to your house.

the walk was occupied by awkward silence.

"manjajiko stop staring at me!" Inosuke shouted and whipped around to glare at Tanjiro.

"what's gotten into you?" you turned around as well, coming face to face with Tanjiro.

"nothing." he dismissed again. you both could tell he was in a bad mood.

"say it or i'll not smile at you for the rest of the week." you threatened.

Tanjiro sucked his teeth and sighed.

"can Inosuke go?" you furrowed your brows.

"he doesn't know his left and right."

"yes i do!" he barked.
