This is the last 'filler' chapter, before we dive head first into the massive plot. I plan on around ten - fifteen more chapters for this book, but we'll just have to see how it plays out. Be patient with the book, as we are just getting started...

Tessa's POV

It's been five days since Leonardo broke the news to us. That my dad was working with theirs. Amiyah soon found out, and it wasn't a nice look on her face. She was more scared than I've ever seen her before.

It still confuses me, how they decided to work together. Just two fathers who hate their children, working together to go against them. What happened to the normal life I once had? The normal family? A family where they didn't mean no harm?

"You okay, amore?" Leo speaks up, continuing to soothingly rub my back as I lay on top of him. "Mhm," I hum, drawing circles on his chest.

Yesterday, Leonardo came over again. Trying to discuss a plan, or however we are going to somehow stop them. I mean, for fuck sake, Raul runs a mafia? How the fuck do we escape that?

"We'll figure something out, we always do," He attempts to reassure me, pecking my forehead, his lips lingering for a second. I don't reply, but only nod and let out a sigh. I'd be lying if I said I'm not sick of this shit, cause damn fucking well I am.

"I just thought I'd never have to hear from him again, you know?" I whispered, smacking my lips together in disbelief. "I thought he'd leave us alone despite everything he's put me and Miyahs through."

He huddles me in closer, running his hands through my hair. "Trust me, amore?" He says softly, pecking my forehead, his lips lingering ever so slightly. I nod my head, not strong enough to form words. "Words baby, I need your words," He ushers, and I gather whatever it takes.

"Yes, I trust you," My voice cracks slightly, but he sees no problem in that. He lets out a sigh, as his hands continue tangling up in my hair. "Then trust me when I say we'll have their heads on a fucking platter."

"Leonardo! If you don't give my sunglasses back I swear to--"
"What was that? I can't hear you," He cups his hand to his ear, raising his brow as a knowing smirk rises onto his face. I roll my eyes at his stupidity, he's just like his brother.

Miyah is running around the edge of the pool, and frankly, Leonardo's also by the edge of the pool. His back is towards Miyah, as he looks at me challengingly. I nod my head, hoping it'll signal Miyahs. I see her little body tip-toeing closer to Leonardo, and my lips curl into a grin.

Suddenly, Miyahs shoves him by the legs, using all the strength it takes. He attempts to stay up, but Miyah sends one more forceful shove, tipping him right into the pool.

"Good job baby!" I clap in excitement, laughing as Leonardo resurfaces, shaking his head around. "Oh no princess, I wouldn't have done that if I were you," Leonardo tuts his lips, pacing out of the pool as Miyahs squeals.

"Mama! Mama help!" She's running towards me, but so is Leonardo, and he's way too fucking fast. His hands wrap around her little stomach, gently lifting her up and over his shoulder. "You should've been on my team, princess," He fake pouts, as Miyah uncontrollably giggles.

Without warning, he jumps into the pool, Miyah in his arms. I let out a chuckle at the sight. He's definitely Miyahs favourite uncle.

"Amore," Familiar veiny arms wrap around my waist, and I immediately feel warm. "Hey, how was training?" I ask him, my hands on his. "Mhm, good," He hums into the crook of my neck, causing me to let out a chuckle.

"Better go say hi to Miyah before she gets all grumpy at you again," I jokingly warn, and I can hear him groan.

Last night, Leo forgot to say hi to Miyah. And well, she was mad to say the least. She didn't talk to Leo for 3 hours, a grumpy expression plastered on her face the whole entire time. It was priceless.

Until Leo ran to the store and bought ice-cream, along with a new canvas set. Yes, Miyah loves drawing and painting. And once she saw that, she jumped into his arms as if she was never mad at him. It was so fucking cute.

He gets up, walking over to the pool as he greets his brother.

I'd be lying if I said I fully trusted him. But there's no harm in trying, especially if it looks like he's putting the effort in. I truly do want to trust him, so this is his only chance to make it right.

--------------

After another half hour of swimming around, we all got out and took showers, freshening up for dinner. Aria had to fly out of state, another hospital apparently really needed her skills present for their patients. She flew out yesterday morning.

The boys are hell lucky that I can cook. I fixed up Italian pasta, as well as lasagna for dinner, setting up the table as the boys finish getting ready for the night.

Leo suggested we talk about plans. Plans for our fathers. But we've been doing that day after day since we found out, for hours even. It's getting tiring. I only want this one day to relax, to forget about the fucked up life we live, is that so hard to do?

So I told him not tonight, and that we should watch a movie.

The twins zoom downstairs, both expressionless, striding heavy one after the other. They really are no different from each other. It's almost scary.

"Finally, dinner's ready," I explain, pulling a chair out for Miyah to climb in. I sit opposite Miyahs, Leo beside me as Leonardo takes his seat beside Miyahs.

"Fuck, this looks delicious," Leonardo says, eye fucking the food in front of us. Before I could speak up, Leo does.

"Watch your language around my daughter, dumbass," He says sternly, and I mentally roll my eyes at his snark comment. Tells him not to swear, but continues to do so himself? Typical.

No, Miyahs not his daughter, and not mine either. But I like to imagine that it was always us three.

I set Miyahs dinner up, as the boys dig into their food, almost anomalistically. "Can you guys relax? Please?" I look at the boys who are devouring the food. They look at me, then each other, before screwing their faces up in disgust, slowing down on their eating.

I chuckle aloud, nodding my head as I hand Miyah her plate. "Thank you mama!" She squeals, and I kiss her forehead lightly. "You're welcome baby," I say happily, before taking my seat once more.

It's silent. But not the uncomfortable silence. The soothing type.

I can't wait to get this bullshit drama over with.
