Tessa's POV

I hear pure silence on the other side.
No footsteps.
No chatter.
No breathing.
Nothing.

But yet again, two more knocks are placed at the door.
I tiptoe over to a couch, bending down and hiding behind it. Fuck sake, should a pregnant woman even be doing this?

"Open up Tessa!" An unrecognisable voice shouts, sending shivers down my spine.
I work up the courage to sneak off into the kitchen, grabbing a fat butcher knife from the stand.

I tightened my grip around it, like I'm scared it's going to grow legs and run off.
Use it if you need to, don't be afraid.

"I'm coming in," The same deep voice shouts, and I'm ready to rumble.

"2,"
"1!"

I slid behind a corner just in time, hearing the door fling open. I hear a pair of footsteps at most, meaning theres only one person here.

"Hiding now, are we?" I hear him chuckle lowly, as I grip the knife tighter. "Wouldn't you want to meet your brother in law?"
I froze.

Fuck. It's Leonardo. And what I'm not gonna do, is have my first impression be of some little bitch.

I walked out of the corner, and I'm met with a replica of Leo.
Standing at about 6'4, strong and muscular, black hair-- but it's slicked back with gel. He's wearing a suit, and a rolex watch. I also notice a large scar swiping over his left eye.

But there's something that they don't have in common.
Eye colours.

Leonidas' eye colour is dark green.
Leonardo's eye colour is mid brown.

Leonidas must have Raul's eyes, while Leonardo has Aria's.

"You take a step closer, and I'll shove this so far down your throat," I warn, keeping the butcher knife in sight.
I heard him chuckle once more, "Relax princess, I mean no harm," he holds his arms up in surrender. His eyes shift from mine, to my belly.

"I see I've got a niece or nephew on the way," I could see a glimpse of happiness in his eyes. "You stay away from my child," I grit, turning myself away from him.

"You're going to regret that, princess," he warns, raising a brow as he steps closer to me. I immediately swing the knife up, "Back, the fuck, up."

"I just want to feel my brothers child," He says softly. And I don't know what to believe. Do I be ignorant and let him? Or do I keep my guard up and keep us safe?

"I'm not fucking playing around," I hiss, squinting my eyes as he slows down his steps. I hear footsteps coming from upstairs.
Please don't be Amiyah.

"Tessa honey," Aria cooes, "Are you alright?" She walks into view, but her hands are on her eyes as she rubs them.

Aria doesn't need this drama in her life right now.

Without hesitating, I push Leonardo behind a wall, while putting my index finger over my lips-- indicating for him to stay quiet.

"I'm fine Aria," I assure her, seeing her smile down at me. "Was just grabbing a drink and I dropped the lid," I lie, shaking my head at myself.

She lets out a petite yawn, "Okay honey, good night," She says tiredly. I tell her good night, before heading back to Leonardo.
Without saying a word, I grab him by the arm and take him outside.

I can't risk us nearly getting caught again.

And I know he's not resisting, cause God knows he can pull my weight with his pinky.
I led us outside, and closed the door, smacking my pocket to feel for the spare key.

"What do you want from us," I cut to the chase, sitting down on the footsteps, feeling his presence behind me.

He comes closer and takes a seat beside me, letting out a huff of air. "My father's planning something," He explains, running a hand through his hair.

I want to cut him off, but it's best to let him explain everything before I go ape shit.

I nod my head, but an eyebrow is slightly raised. "He wants to take everyone in this house," He furthers. "He wants you guys to live with us, back in Italy."

I felt my airways slightly close. He want's to kidnap us. Take us against our will.
Although I want to break down right here and now, I can't let him see me weak and vulnerable.

"And why are you telling me this?" I ask, "Aren't you on his side, yourself?" He chuckles, shaking his head slightly.

"I want to get to know my brother," He shrugs his shoulders, "I know we've gotten off on the wrong foot, but I want to start fresh," My turn to chuckle.

"Bullshit," I laughed, "This is part of your little plan, isn't it?" I ask. But I don't let him talk. "Get close to us, take us, maybe even kill us?" I tilted my head, raising a brow.

"I don't have to prove myself to anyone," He calmly retorts, "If you don't believe me, I'm fine with that, but I'm not lying. And this is not a part of a plan," He keeps his voice calm and collected.

Maybe he's telling the truth?
Don't trust so easily, Tessa.

"Amore?" A more familiar voice says. Soon enough, I see Leo, and he looks frustrated. He sees Leonardo, and pulls me away from him immediately.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" He grits, keeping me behind him.
"I want a fresh start between us," Leonardo replies, his voice steady while Leonidas' losing his shit.

"Stay away from my family," He warns.
I peek over the side of Leonidas, and I'm beyond creeped out.

Seeing two Leo's argue-- Well, one yelling, and one staying calm.
But they look so identical that it scares me. I don't even think they realise how similar they look. They're too busy being threatened by one another.

"Hear me out," Leonardo begins, holding his hands in the air. "If I send you information about the next attack, and they show up, you'll know I'm telling you the truth. That I really do want a second chance," He explains.

I watch as Leo raises his brow, contemplating the possible outcomes of this.
"Not once, twice," Leo offers. "You tell us about two occasions where Raul is coming for us,"
He furthers, and Leonardo immediately nods his head.

"Done," he agrees, holding his hand out. Leo looks at it for a few seconds, before grabbing it in his and shaking it firmly.
"It's good to finally meet you, brother," Leonardo states, pulling his arm away.

"Yeah, you too," Leo says, and I can tell he doesn't fully mean it.
"I'll be back in due time," He says once more, before leaving.
